If you are experience the same ticking noise between 1K and 2K, BMW is trying to figure out what that is as I am writting this. My car is at the dealership also. Has a BMW of NA rep checked your car out?

It may happen soon, it has only been there a few days so far. it has been in multiple times for the other issues though. I think the stealership is finally taking it seriously.

edit for clarity, It has only been a few days since I gave up driving it and left it there to be fixed.

Oh wow, this keeps getting better and better...

will update in a few...

edit: so, I got a call from the dealer today from a very confused used car salesman who wondered why I was calling him... Apparently the person I was talking to yesterday gave me the wrong name and number, and the wrong info about which cars were available, and wrong info about what they were being sold for...

I talked to the person I was dealing with before all this happened and we straightened out all the info, but unless they come back with a smoking good financial deal to do this trade, I think I am just going to wait and lemon law it...

you know, I looked at your car when it was at Sears, just came off the truck the day before. I wish I had bought it...

but the salesman really turned me off over there, so I went to the other place...

There are 2 BMW dealers here in the Minneapolis/St Paul area, one is called Motorwerks BMW, and the other is Sears BMW, not affiliated with Sears the department store...

Ok, well another update. According to the voicemail message I got a bit ago, the stalling problem was caused by bad gas.

So, educate me as to how this can happen?

Yup... one of those, erm, "bad gas" guys was me, right after I got the car in May. Haven't had an issue since in 7K miles. So hopefully that's all you're looking at and you can get right back out there.

But if you have to trade in, that Alpine/Fox combo is sweet. I saw that exact build (except with CF trim) when I was shopping for mine.

What were the symptoms of the "bad gas?"

I should have never sold my 08 535i. Soooo comfortable....love the M, don't get me wrong, but it is not the car for me and my weekly travel schedule. I had back surgery about two years ago and apparently just cant let go of my mischievous childhood love for fast cars.

Enough issues to think "lemon" yet you want another one?

Yes, I do. There seems to be plenty of them that do not have problems and I like it.

Whats wrong with that?
