Give it some time. When we see the final version and when the car been on the road for a while. More people will appreciate the new M3 E92.
Do the same survey in a year and lets see what people think.

There is no way in hell the M3 is gonna come anywhere close to 100k. M5's don't even cost that much...

I was looking the other day at some estimates of what we can expect for MSRP on the new M3. I used % markups for the M5 and M6 for comparison.

M5 has a 40% markup over the 550
M6 has a 33% markup over the 650

The 335 is $40k and a 33-40% markup from that price puts the starting MSRP of the new M3 between $54-57. Worst case scenario we're talkin low $60's MSRP...
and we highly doubt it's going to be 60s...
I say low 70s fully loaded

You've posted this same thread across multiple forums. Sounds like your trying to convince yourself more than anyone that your satisfied with your E46. Which for the most part of another year you will be until an E92 rolls up to you at the light. Enthusiast or not... as an "M" owner...you will have to respect the latest and greatest.

I think he meant in CDN dollars, not US.

And a delivery date of 2009 may applicable for a DSG M3-cab, but not the coupe.

The E46 M3 is a nice car. But, I wouldn't hesitate for a millisecond to get the new V8 version.

Folks,

Sorry for the conversion issue. I meant the 2008 M3 (with some options + CND tax) could come up to about $100K CANADIAN DOLLARS (so I've been told to expect by my dealer). Please note that in Canada (as in some States) we need the winter package and snow tires (can't use huskies and sleds all the time up here) so we may pay a bit more than others, not including the dollar differential.

E46 M3s are great cars and will always be enjoyed and appreciated (I love mine and can wait for the E92. Logic and BMW history tells us more and better will be in the 2008 M3 and we will learn to appreciate it (some sooner others maybe later). If you are fortunately to drive any M3 - ENJOY!
k.
