Four M3 Photo Shoot - Houston, Texas - July 25, 2010 (80 pictures)
I just got a Zaino detail yesterday. That makes it a perfect time for myself and some other forum members to go on a photo shoot in downtown Houston at three locations. FYI, I own the AW M3 with the black VMR710 wheels and am also the photographer for all these pics.
Yes, the sweet vinyl-wrapped matte black E93 M3 is making another appearance...this time fully wrapped. Will this posting make M3post.com home page again? Recommend! Here is the work truck of my professional mobile detailer who made my AW car a gloss like no other with Zaino treatment. Something's wrong here. I'm shooting pics in 94 deg weather (probably around 110 on the tarmac), about to faint, and these weenies are hiding in the shade! Finally, some HDR pic for fun! Zaino Power! Awesome pics Frank
I wish I could have been there for those great pics.
I think I will have to plan a trip down that way again sometime

Almost all of your photos are out of focus. I'm guessing the lens you are using is a fixed 50mm? In the daylight, I would assume your shutter speed would be well shorter than 1/200sec. With such a fast shutter speed I wouldn't think you would get much camera shake. Unless you are trying to shoot below f2.8. If not, you need a tri-pod. A tri-pod with a remote shutter will fix it.

Yeah, I have some out of focus pics, but "almost all" of them being out of focus? I don't think so. And a fixed 50 mm lens? Are you not seeing the group photos where a lot of the shots were taken at 18 mm? The lens used for all shots was a Nikon 18-200 mm f3.5-5.6 VRII. I did have a tri-pod, but in 110 deg heat, there's no incentive to set it up. And you sir, are a troller driving an S2000. What are you doing on an M3 board hmmm? |

I don't mean to be a hater. Maybe it's not my place to comment, but it seemed from your original post that you were assuming that your pictures were great.
I read my post again and now realize it comes across as being adversarial. I'm working on my own car photo skills and meant the post as more of a question than a criticism. I just couldn't figure out why so many were edited but out of focus. I didn't want to make the same mistake. Now that you mentioned the lens you are using, I understand better. By the way, am I not allowed on M3 Post? Am I not special enough. I better not catch you on s2ki. |
