Does anyone else's super charger puke out a little bit of oil on a hot day and a spirited run??

Okay I'm thinking positive!! I'm so excited to feel this monster. It's going to be crazy!!!!

Thanks for the help and support again. I don't know what I would do without this forum!!
No, there shouldn't be any oil coming out of the blower housing. With the manifold, you should be able to take a flashlight and see where the manifold connects to the throttle bodies. Make sure the rubber sleeve of the tb's is up over the manifold outlets. Can't help you with diagrams, sorry. With the bypass valve, the way it works is, anytime the throttle bodies are closed there is a vacuum created in the system, and that vacuum moves a cylinder inside the valve, allowing the intake charge to flow through it and recirculate back into the system. When under throttle, the vacuum disappears, the cylinder drops, and the valve closes until you lift off the throttle, creating vacuum again and allowing excess boost to bleed off. There is a spring inside the valve that keeps it closed under load (which is what the screw is for, it adjusts the pressure on the spring) and perhaps that spring is shot, which is keeping the valve from closing fully....or it could be out of adjustment and just needs to be tightened down more. You'll have to play with it.

Sweet man. Your a big help.

I put my ear up to the supercharger and the gears inside are SOOOO loud. I wonder if that's normal.

And the oil is coming out of the bleed screw. Not all the time. Only when it's hot out or I floor the car.

I took a quick peak and it seems that some of the throttle body couplers aren't all the way seated. I'm going to reseat the whole manifold and see what happens.

Wish me luck!!

The VF and ESS kits use a vented bolt on their SCs to avoid over pressurizing the SC housing. Most leak a little bit of oil. Mine did.

Again, the purpose of that vent bolt is to allow oil to escape vice busting a gasket on the housing itself.

Yea the bleed screw if under load and you filled it just a tad to much will bleed out a little oil. A very small amount as you never would put more than 1 of the little bottles in. Its enouf to see around the screw and stays in the indention the scew is in. If its more than that, or if it keeps doing it something is wrong.

Is this a used blower, if so how many miles on the unit?

Good luck! If they aren't seated you probably found your problem....and a hundred hp! Might want to take a look at your plugs too while you're messing with it. If you've got a boost leak you've probably been running really rich which can foul the plugs.

Didn't realize the oil was coming out of the bleeder, thought it was just coming out of a random bolt from your first description, sorry. That's probably ok if there's not much of it.

Let me start by saying who ever installed this super charger should be ashamed of themselves.

Every clamp on the 8 throttle bodies were hand tight at best.

The air temp sensor that screws into the intake manifold didn't even have a gasket on it and was hand tight.

Just unbelievable. But I am so thankful that was the problem. It could always be worse. I'll take some loose clamps over a blown charger or engine.

So I literally stayed up all night last night and put my OCD to work. I took the whole kit apart and cleaned everything and tightened stuff. Put gaskets where they belong and wow. Just wow.

It's raining here this morning ( wahh lol. But the idle is rock solid. It's pulling like 19.5-21 vacuum at idle. And just driving it feels way more torquey. I was in 2nd gear and gave it 1/4 throttle and it blew the tires off.

Hopefully it dries up so I can really give it a test.

I also changed the supercharger oil. It was milky and disgusting. And I put a new air filter on it since it was black and mangled.

Thank you everyone for helping me. It was worth staying up all night!! Now to try and get threw the work day without falling over!! Lol

Great to hear glad you got it sorted. The pull to redline will make you laugh it's so fun. I've never driven a car that makes more torque above 7,000 rpm than anywhere else in the rpm range.

Now that you have all the power you are supposed to, now it's time to think about traction. Spinning tires loses races. On street tires, I have out launched an AWD Porsche 911 Turbo and AWD Audi R8 v10 modded to 600 HP. I get traction in every gear at 570 wheel HP. This car is very capable...it just needs a little tweaking. You need the right tires and solid subframe bushings if you are interested in getting the power to the ground.

Absolutely. Couldn't agree any more.

Are you manual or DCT? What's your launch technique.

What psi do you recommend for the rear ??

DCT. My technique is to use MDM (actually I have Euro MDM coded in which is priceless) and just stomp on the pedal.

I'm at 32 psi in the rear tires. My daily tires are Michelin PSS and my track tires are Bridgestone RE71R's. Both 275 35 19. The RE71R's have better traction off the line. They are a "cheater" tire. 200 treadwear but in reality like 80-100.

Some tires really suck for straight line traction. RS3's were the worst possible tire in that regard. Nitto NT05's were good. Toyo R888's are the best.

Compman where did you get the new filter for the VF kit? I have a M3 I bought with a VF650 kit on it that could use a new filter. I'm also only seeing 3-4psi. I don't think my manifold is seated all the way down from the last time I had it off though.

I got it at advance auto parts.

I would definitely look into everything we talked about in the thread.

What are you using to monitor boost?

Don't forget to change that supercharger oil every 7500 miles. Sounds like the last guy forgot it was even in there LOL

The helical gear sets inside the housing makes it inherently noisy. First time I heard it myself I thought something was broke.
