I just ordered some extended paddles as well..can't wait to install them. Do yours feel a lot different?

Where did you buy your performance wheel from?

They're great. Really happy with my choice. The install was fairly easy. Wheel came from a local source, and they were the most competitive price I could find. Let me know if you need more info.

PM me your local source and what you paid. I assume you bought the wheel new?

Nice. I have been considering that wheel since I do take my car to the track. I wonder if they'll install it for me for $20 when the airbag gets replaced? ;-)

I was quoted 1/2 hour of labor to coincide with the airbag. However, the airbag recall could take up to two years and I wasn't willing to wait that long. It was a fairly straightforward Install.

Ouch, haven't heard the 2 year quote. What was the standard install rate? 1 hr? 2 hr?

Believe it was an hour. The airbag recall is a huge train wreck. Currently, dealers cannot re-sell any affected cars, which seeing as how this recall effects 2013 cars in addition to the other model years, means they're getting a ton of lease returns which will sit on their lots until a solution is found; potentially taking up to a year for the dealers to get parts, and two for vehicle owners to get them. I've heard of a few circumstances wherein dealers have refused trades effected by the recall because they knew they would have a car sitting on their lot they couldn't sell for quite some time.

Makes sense. I have been following the various discussions and will just have to wait it out, I guess.

Tischer BMW has the wheel for $675 - $50 coupon + shipping so it's tempting...

If you're mechanically inclined, it was a straightforward install. Wasn't difficult; just a few little details that were time-consuming. I had a great help for my install who had done one himself, previously. That certainly helped and was much appreciated.

Yes, I would agree it is fairly easy to install. I installed one of these on my previous BMW. The hardest part is removing the airbag IMO. There are 2 springs you have to locate inside the center of the wheel. Just make you disconnect your battery so the airbag does not deploy when you remove it.

Exactly right; the 'spring' location is the most time consuming part, as is the disconnectino and replacement of the paddles. Everythign else is pretty much plug and play.

I have been on the edge with buying one of these...now I want one even more lol. These wheels change the entire feel when driving the car.

Beautiful Interior. New wheel is one of the best mods you can do.
I have the BMW Performance V1, it's getting pretty worn, thinking about replacing it with this bad boy.

Thanks for the reply. How many miles are on your V1? Have you tried any cleaners, etc., or does the material simply just degrade over time?

I have about 60,000 on it. The Alcantra is matted and much more smooth instead of fuzzy. The leather on the backside of the wheel has degraded. Display and rev. light work awesome still and I do love the wheel.

Considering this wheel though with a P3 gauge to replace the display function loss.

Why not just have it recovered with alcantara?
