Power steering fluid spraying solution?

Back when I tracked my 335I, I always had some PS fluid spray out onto the rest of the engine bay after a few sessions. It wasn't much, so I usually just cleaned it up. Got my M3 last year, and as everyone reports, it sprayed a lot of PS fluid during track sessions. My M3's PS pump was failing earlier this year, so I replaced it. I saw a replacement video online that recommended changing the reservoir as well because of the old clogged filter inside. Before my last Track day last week I had my old reservoir changed. I bought the oem hose clamps, but my indy shop suggested I use their clamps because of the different less restrictive design. Result? First track day without even 1 drop of PS fluid sprayed. Was it the new filter? Old one was very dirty. Or was it the less restrictive clamps put at a slightly upstream location than the oem? The setup looks like this:

As you can see a full day at the track, and no PS fluid leak.

Maybe you're running low on fluid? Looks nice and clean though. I ran Thunderhill for two days and it leaked only a little bit. Think it depends on track layout too.

my power steering fluid sprays from under my hood and flys out onto the fender.

Glad that it has a 3m wrap on the fenders.

There's a thread called "leaking powersteering fluid" just a few threads down. Should answer all your questions.

The fluid was full. The track was 2.8 miles with hill and valley turns. This setup works. Just letting people know.

Could you give me more information on the clamps? Are they different than worm drive clamps? In the picture it looks like a worm drive clamp. My first thought is the clamp isn't restricting the flow it is just keeping the fluid from getting out. If so it must be the newer style reservoir is an improvement over the old and that would be good news.

I'm guessing that your right on these clamps being worm drive clamps. My shop just called them good german clamps and didn't have the equipment to attach the oem clamps which are radically different. I'm not sure the reservoir style has changed at all, but I could be wrong.

I was thinking of the newer reservoir that the other models are using. I looked it up and then remembered that it required some adapting to get fitted to the M3.

I should probably be thinking about changing my fluid and filter soon also.

The reservoir has a filter in it, that needs to be changed by getting a new unit! It's only $20. No excuse not to get it done.
