Nice SG with red wheels! I have thought about spraying mine, but can't decide. Glad you had fun? I wish I could go to COTA more often!

I sure did! Such a great track, and lots of high speed sections to 2nd gear corners. I would do it more often if I can too. 53,500 miles on original engine bearings scares me though...

Love the car! If I had a track only car, it would look very similar to yours.

It IS fun running around the track with some of the more exotic cars, whether we catch them or not.

BTW chamba, I am fond of SG and I think the red wheels work well!

OP, beautiful car and pics! This track is def on my bucket list now.
LOL, it's the driver mod I did actually pass the Ferrari after that pic hahaha.

Thanks! Im on VOLK TE37RT which I bought from the forums here. COTA is a track that every car guy should AT LEAST try once. Its a smooth track that is very technical. You couldn't master it with just one track day. And the speed is crazy, I hit 140mph on the long straights.

The stock brakes was okay but I noticed fade after 15mins of each session. Most noticeable on the straight between turns 11 and 12. I was hitting 140mph on that section.

Im on Akebono ceramic brake pads, ECS tuning SS brake lines and Motul DOT 5.1 brake fluid.

Knowing what I know now, yes that is scary!

Ditto! Or you can pick me up on your way to Texas lol. Running a full ice tank and CSF everything (sans their power steering cooler) now.

I took my E92 this weekend. I was hoping you'd be there!

I may buy the pics, but I had two cars there this weekend so going to see if he can work a deal for this event and a few past ones.

Sorry I missed this weekend. Glad you were able to bring your E92 and I'm sorry missed my car's evil twin!

P.S. How is the added canards working out for you? You have the 67" wing with gurney flap so you need it more than me.

Stock bearings, 4 hpde days, 1 autocross, 102k miles, 8600 rpm raised limiter, beaten hard every chance I get - 6+ redlines a day. Runs like a dream and never went into limp mode once on me even at 270+ degree temps on back to back track days at Buttonwillow. Posted my latest oil report. I'm almost afraid to change my bearings and ruin a good thing.

Will be doing Willow springs this month on the 20th, then thunderhill the 26-27th.

I went there on stock bearings in early '14. Engine had maybe 64k miles on it.

It broke. Spun a bearing, lost power. Tried restarting, bent and snapped a rod to boot.

COTA has long straights and high speed sweepers, you're on the accelerator a lot. Long periods of sustained high RPM's.

I won't add more to the conspiracy theory, but IF it was going to happen, COTA is the perfect storm. High Heat, High RPM's.

New engine has Bimmerworld Bearings, ARP hardware and I change the the oil every 180 track minutes or 1 COTA weekend.

Not sure if they add anything. If so I can't tell.

Had a mis-hap that damaged one of the original sets of canards. But fortunately enough was left I was able to shorten them so I can run double.

I'm building a larger Splitter from HDPE to go underneath the GT4 splitter next.

I'd like to add a SC or build the motor for more power but I may be better off selling this one and building an M4.

I guess these motors are a hit or a miss. Im only at 53,600 miles. Engine is stock and sounds good so far.

Dang thats good to know. I was shifting early at 7k rpm but yeah the Texas heat and high speed sweepers is tough on the engine. Ill just do the bearing upgrade to be on the safe side. I do have 3rd party warranty but sometimes i feel like there are loop holes in the warranty. Im pretty sure they wont replace my engine if it did go out on the track....

Yeah, I didn't have a problem with my power steering fluid at Laguna Seca or Thunderhill, but 1 session at Buttonwillow, and it was spewing all over my engine bay. Fixed with a rag + zip ties :/
