I'm hoping it's an aluminum pan/cover with a Viton seal.

I just want to ask that any one tried apply some silicone like ultra black on the gaskets of both side and lower pans?

As long as both surfaces are free from oil and debris, yes this could be a temporary fix to the problem.

Has a solution been found? I just got a $2200 quote from my indy to get the side pan gasket and oil pan replaced.

Yes Indeed we need a solution. Rallye BMW did about $9000 worth of work on mine 2013 E92 M3 couple of months ago for a transmission leak and on Saturday I took it in for brake service and oils check they found a leak

I hope this is a comprehensive solution addressing all three areas on the DCT that are prone to seeping/leaking!

Also, just as a note, it would be nice to have a standard capacity billet lower DCT pan for those of us who do not need additional oil capacity.

Lower pan is not the only source of leak. The vertical side pan is even more challenging to seal, not to mention the high pressure hoses on the left.

They applied unicorn tears to the gaskets to improve surface adhesion.

F me, I just went in for a oil change and they said my side DCT seal is starting to seep.
There goes my Pure stage 2 turbo upgrade on the 1 series.
