Cracked/Broke BMC Engine filter
Hi guys,
Was servicing the BMC filter that came with the car when I bought it a few months ago. As I was cleaning it I noticed a piece of the urethane base was cracked/broke. Input on whether this is cosmetic or will allow more dirt past the filter would be appreciated. It's a 2008 e90 m3. From what I've been researching the 2008-2009 filters are charcoal and the later EU won't fit so I'd be stuck having to buy an aftermarket one when I'd prefer oem (but not the charcoal one). Thanks for your input. |

It will allow dirt through, yes. You could try contacting BMC to see if that's warrantied, though I suspect it's not.
Just go for an OEM paper filter and call it a day.
