underseat subwoofer worth removing?

anyone weight these? they are pretty small but wondering if it's even worth it to take them out for weight savings #becauseracecar

so easy to take out but just wondering if it's even worth it.

They weigh a few lbs each, because of the magnet in the speaker. Probably 10 lbs total. Easy to remove.

thanks - i think 10 pounds is ok to have better sound? Although the rear parcel has been removed, belts, and speakers, and I have been driving around lately with the fader all the way to the front and bass all the way down just to experience how it would sound. it sounds like shit but im getting exhaust oh well.

Why compromise- sounds like you should just gut the interior altogether!

How tempting it is!

Since it's double duty I'm trying to do whatever I can to compromise.

So far rear fold downs, parcel shelf. I guess I can remove the subs - although it's only 10lbs at best with seat swap it adds up. Slowly getting there.

Next will be cage after that. Should be daily drivable still lol.

Coupes can have them as well, I forget what package they come on. I just weighed them, they're 5.3 lbs/per, so 10.6lbs total.

great thanks!

With my xpipe and muffler replaced plus the subs coming out should be another decent shedding. Not akra levels but anything is lighter than the stock components.

You might want to get some 1.5" plugs to cover up the hole left in the floor when you remove them. For some reason they decided to make the plugs a part of the speaker. The hole looks to be about 1.560", so a 1.5" plug from McMcaster Carr like 9750K32 should work.

thanks Ill look into that - might just staple some carpet down or use painters tape or something lol.

I shouldn't have sold my edc strut covers that could have worked.

The question is if you remove it and disconnect it does it affect the radio from working or it just works with less bass?

Radio still works, just less base and more NVH.

Interesting design decision.
