July 28th - 29th Track Days - BW13CW and SOW

July 28th - 29th Track Days. BW13CW and SOW are both going on. I'm thinking about doing BW13CW on 28th and SOW on 29th. Anyone else plan on going to either of these?

Speed Ventures is doing Buttonwillow and Extreme Speed is doing Streets of Willow.

Anyone signed up for Sunday the 29th at either Chuckwalla or SOW? Trying to figure out which to do that day. Already doing Button on Saturday.

I am debating SOW (mainly to test drive someone's S2000 CR lol).

My bet is that Chuckwalla will be unbearably hot -- and I assume Raceline isn't doing the early start that Star Car did at their last June track day? (they opened the track at 7am to get more cool sessions in the morning). Probably have to wait until weather report gets closer and pray for clouds.

Though FYI I went to SOW on the 8th and it was hot (not as hot, but still hot). But the issue I kept having was the car overheating, as speeds at that track are too low for efficient cooling (and the need to keep the car wound up in second gear).

Have you considered just doing two days at Button?

FYI, Raceline is running between 7am to 2pm at Chuckwalla this weekend.

I did SOW on July 7th (for the first time since August last year) and it was meh. Too short of a track, not that challenging, etc. If I had a Miata or a S2k, then it'd be a fun track.

Nice! Excellent info and definitely makes CVR a more attractive option

Edit: Why are you posting weather for this weekend...? (July 21-22)

^Weather info deleted! ('s what happens when you post while dealing w/ 10 different things, lulz)

But, I'm sure the weather will be similar on 28 & 29 weekend.

BTW, info on Raceline's 29th event on FB --> http://www.facebook.com/events/377532228966974/

Very likely, I only did a double-take because one of the days said thunderstorms at CVR Doesn't seem like a great place to be with lightning.

I really like CVR (a thousand times more than SOW) but it is just going to be too hot this weekend (even starting at 7am).

I might do morning at SOW (likely will be too hot and greasy by the time lunch hits) and then go home... or might consider just staying up at BW. It's obviously a lot better track than SOW and the weather actually looks somewhat bearable (for July).

rhouck I decided I'm going to do BW both days and stay all night up there Sat night. Yeah i looked at the weather and too damn hot at CW. Talk to Dave at SV and he might be able to give you a 2day discount. Ricky said to stay at the Best Western that is about 15 miles south of BW so I will probably just grab a room there.
