BMW's Test Track in Miramas, France?
Got an E-Mail the other day from BMWNA about a 1-day complete M experience at BMW's private test track in Miramas, South of France. Here is the agenda:
Day 1: BMW M welcomes you in the 5-star Hotel Sofitel Marseille Vieux Port. Feel free to relax and enjoy the view on the harbor before we invite you to a gala dinner. Day 2: Unleash the pure JOY of our latest M vehicles with the help of BMW’s Driver Training instructors and compare them to rides in our race cars. It all happens at BMW’s private Miramas Test Track. You may even catch a glimpse of future M models that are being tested. Get ready for surprises! This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is limited to 15 drivers per day. Total cost for this M experience is $1,500 per person including accommodations, meals, transfers to/from the racetrack and airport, and the racetrack event. Anyone gone to this "M experience" before and if so, how does it compare to the Performance Center's 1-day M-School in Spartanburg, SC?

Sounds cool but pretty steep - when you add in airfare, the cost for that 1 day will be close to $3k easy. I wonder what "race cars" you would get a ride in...

I recall something about a similar event on this forum a couple years ago. I think it gave the first opportunity for private individuals to drive the new E92 M3. Search the forum for details about the experience - it is probably similar to the one you've been invited to.

I got the invite as well and am deciding on whether or not I should go. It's been so long since I've had a vacation that I'm putting some serious thought into doing it.
I'm guessing that this will be a preview of the F10 M5 as the timing seems about right. |
