Help: Error code: P0175 system too rich bank 2

Anyone have more detail about this cel I got yesterday? I am on a out of state road trip and had to put 91 octane premium (California premium) in the car and after running 1 1/2 tanks of this stuff through the car I got the cel. I cleared it and so far after 150 miles it hasn't come back.

I usually run 92 octane at home....would dropping to 91 make much of a difference? I am running test pipes for the track and have a tune.

P0175 was one, of many, of the codes I got before replacing my low pressure fuel sensor. I had two or three different code sets, including one that put the engine into limp mode. I replaced the sensor 4-5 weeks back and haven't seen any codes since

Thx...did you replace the fuel sensor yourself? How much was the part? What was the car doing? Rough starts when sitting overnight?

I started out this way too ... but it got steadily worse so I took it in and turned out I had a bad throttle actuator valve:

Thanks all... Appreciate the quick replies. I might start simple ( sensor first)...and if that doesn't help I will look into the actuator valve. The car has been starting a little rough in the mornings when cold...idle dips down pretty low, almost stalls but then bounces back up and is fine.

Maybe the lower octane gas is just a coincidence...

No problem. Yes, I did. I actually used the cheaper ~$70 part rather than the ~$130 part. Works just fine. Check the one or two repair thread for details on part numbers and my tips on installation. PM me if you have any questions.

As far as behavior, my car wasn't exhibiting any symptoms other that throwing codes--no rough starts or bucking. Having said that, I think low-speed acceleration was a bit smoother after replacement. Might have been psychological but I don't think so.

That's EXACTLY how mine started. Then it occasionally it would do the same thing a minute or two after start at a stop light or something. Then one day, after the usual post start-up dip and recover I was about 20 seconds after having pulled out and it fully stalled with all the lights coming on. I shut 'er down, restarted and no more problems for 3 weeks (besides the start-up dip). Then I got the full stall again and decided to take it in. i was getting the same codes you were, but I've read this can be common to a lot of problems. Anyway, mine was the throttle actuator ... took about 4 hours to diagnose and replace. No problems since then.

1+ what he said. It was the low fuel pressure sensor. Takes like 20-25 minutes to install bro. It's right behind the airbox. Should be good after you install the new one. I did mine a few months ago same code, never came back. Ohh by the way the rough idles stopped after.

So, is there a diagnostic test that will tell me if its the simple sensor that needs replacing or the much more expensive throttle actuator?

Not sure if there's a diagnostic which will verify for sure. Are you getting any other codes? That was what helped guide me. I got about 5-6 different codes and all of them pointed to the same thing. It was possible that it was a fuel system controller (?) by one code but several threads referenced the other codes as being the low pressure fuel sensor.

If you're up to it, I would look for more codes and make the replacement. It's very common on these cars right now and a very easy fix.

Yeah I got 3 codes leading to the same thing. Change it, it's an easy fix then go from there.

So far I have only gotten the one code. I cleared it, waiting to see if it comes back. It did start rough again yesterday...but didn't throw a code. I'll probably go with sensor replacement first and see what happens.

Hi Folks - I cleared that code a couple weeks ago and all has been fine...until two days ago when I got a 2nd CEL, but this one is different than the first (P0175). The latest one is: P0092 - "Fuel Pressure Reg 1 Control Circuit High".

Anyone know what this is caused by? Is it related to the other code?
