Question Removing the CEL after exhaust...

Sorry for the noob questions but im about to install some Macht Schnell test pipes on my E92 M3 and i know im going to get a CEL. Is there any way to get rid of the light without purchasing some aftermarket tuner software or flash device? Like can i just clear and erase the code for good using a OBD scanner from some auto store?

Thanks in advance!

Akra Delete-R (will continuously delete the CEL) or something like the BT tool (have to hook it up every ~100 miles and manually reset it.) I just ignored it for over a year then wound up getting a tune.

Will either one let you pass the emission test? Not the sniffer but the OBD2 check.

I've heard some guys getting thru with it coded out, and some with it coded out they are reporting that it failed the O2 readiness test even though there is not light. I am due to be tested by the 15th of Dec. I think I'm going to have pipes welded to the cats so they can be swapped out easily, switch to a ready file, then switch them back out.

Yes there's possibly a way to fool it. Look up anti-foul O2. I did the same on my 06 S2000 and got it to work. The trick was using steel wool inbetween the anti-foulers as a gas buffer. I've read some people have been able to get it to work and Supersprint even offers them with microcats (you can buy generic versions on amazon for $80)

Question for others: Does the CEL cause a performance loss?
