Airplay Enabler
I have been using the Blackberry Gateway for a solid year now but have been met with mixed feelings. It seems like you always have to have the volume in a sweet spot so there is no crackle or popping through the speakers. My speaker are in good repair as well I assure you. So I had seen the retrofit of airport expresses and wondered why no one had made a device like it powered via usb. Then as luck would have it I found just what I was looking for. The advantages are wireless will not compress the audio file as much as bluetooth, plus much better range. Anyways thought I would post a link for everyone having the same issues I was. Cost $50 and shipped out of Cali. I'm pretty sure its an asian import due to writing that came on the box. I will not carry an image to head unit though. Here is a link. Fits very nicely in center console.

I saw that too, but wasn't sure how legit it was. I couldn't find too much about it on the net, so I just did the conversion on the airport express. How do you like it?

Just put it in tonight, but so far so good. Are you able to carry videos at all to your display with your express?

Correct, the Bluetooth audio is not full bandwidth. The aux-input would be (AirPlay carries full-bandwidth, and can even playback lossless audio). The optimal connection is the USB port if you have it, as it is carried as a pure/raw digital signal.

(you used the term AirPlay, so I assume you have an Apple device)

I don't have it yet as I just ordered it earlier today. But since you're on airplay, I assume you can hear it through your speakers but need to speak into the phone. Or you can choose to turn it off the airplay and speak directly on your phone.

So my TP-Link wireless extender came in and I have been trying to set it up.
Do you guys happen to have screenshots of the settings? The car doesnt show the USB drive hooked up to anything when I plug it into the center console. The phone sees it, can connect to it, but I dont get an option to airplay to it. |

Think I'm gonna try this as well. Why is this better than bluetooth audio ... lossless audio being the #1 factor? Do you control the playlist from the phone or the idrive or basically can I access the play list from the idrive if required?
Is it possible to stream video to the idrive from this?
