I don't think so... again, Top HiFi in the 3 Series is a $1200 option. Individual Audio (Europe) add some $900 to that price. So this $700 audio option does not match in price any current audio option available right now.

AUX input is standard in all USA 3 Series... iPod/USB option is just that, a $400 option to fully control that iPod/Mp3 player thru USB.

The Wholesale price of this option in the 3 Series Coupe is $365.00. Thus this USB $350 price is -as the Enhanced Sound System at $700- as best "wishful thinking": http://jon.bimmerfest.com/bulletins/MY08E92.pdf

After all, even the 135i USB option is $400; its Top HiFi option is $875.

I think that this option price list as a whole is more like "writing any numbers on the option sheet" than anything close to factual information.

I am with you on doubting the accuracy after a few inconsistencies here.

I can answer the question about the 6fl price...and don't complain..it's $350 from the factory........because you have to purchase the cord from the dealer and they charge 50 bucks in most cases...I know this because the Military sales guy told me.....he also said the reason that the cars coming thru Military sales don't have things like car mats..is not to let the dealers make money on after sales..it's because the ships the cars are shipped on are like pirate ships...anything not bolted down will be taken...the 6FL IS 350 + 50 FOR THE HOOKUP cable..so make sure ya dealer aint hitting ya twice fellas.....I swear to ya..thats why..oh the big advantage of the 6fl it's gives you total intergration my wifes 330 has the aux standard and it's good but damn i hate having to look down to change my music on my ipod it really is a fracking pain..not to mention dangerous

That's incorrect in the USA... the $400 MSRP/$365 invoice includes the cable. The dealer parts department should give the cable free of charge to owners once the car is delivered.

The iPod cable, correct?
What if you don't need the cable, just the usb connection? Option should be listed at $350/$365 if you don't need the cable.

What this "Enhanced Premiun Sound" exactly is is then a mystery for me; one thing for sure, either the price is wrong or only for the M3 this is the price of the Logic 7 option/some new low cost DSP solution. There's no way that you can jump from base HiFi to Top HiFi Individual for just $700. Unless it is a gift... very un-BMW-like.
Yeah, weird. The confounding factor is the option has the same code # and price in the 2008 M5, and the recent BMWUSA M Driver newsletter describes the M5 system in terms that sound quite a lot like the Individual system (825W, "neodym hexacone" speakers, etc).

Cable is included in the price in the USA, i.e., it is $400 regardless if you need the cable or not. In Europe the cable is separate purchase from the option itself.

I doubt that the USA M3 will have a way of discounting the cable from the option price.

Well, that could mean that the base audio system in the M3 must be the Logic 7 and not the HiFi, for this Enhanced Premium Sound (Individual Audio) option to be priced at $700.

Let me add a few observations after reading the thread responses.

When I ordered through MIL in 2006, all options and MSRP had some type of discount, but in 2007 when I got a look at the 335 price list, only the MSRP and I think NAV had a little discount.

So looking at this list, it looks as though several of the items "may have" a MIL discount. I agree with the members having doubts about the $700 Premium Audio number. It could be wrong, read on.
The Premium Audio according to all the literature is clearly better than the Logic 7 system. Here is a quote from the May 2007 M3 model feature issue from BMW. "The BMW High End Individual Audio system is controlled and masterminded by the iDrive controller with basic controls still available through the normal audio controls in the center console". Clearly, according to this, you MUST have ZTP or NAV to get the high end audio...the $700 amount "might" be accurate for the US market since ZTP or NAV is a requirement to get it.
I did notice what seemed to be a bit of "back pedaling" in my last email exchange with my rep when I started to nail down some options questions, but I can't help but think the document still has some veracity. How else could they have a clue about the sunroof and trim pricing etc...?
Cheers.

Well, it is what it is I guess, and gave us something to talk about. I hope that it turns out to be accurate in the end, but BMW will tell...

I finally heard from my Mil Sales Rep today and he had no new information for me. Its posssible they have a better estimate now but my Rep is waiting for the official price before he gives me anymore info. He also said that final pricing may not be released until January or about three months before US production starts.

I am hoping some new options pop up for the US in this time. For example, MDCT. Not sure if I am on board the MDCT train but would like it as a possibility when the time to spec my car comes around.

3 months before US production is Sep 07, according to the leaked option page, which had a production date of 12/07.
What he is saying is that US production doesn't start until March 08? I doubt that.

In Germany extended leather costs 50% more than leather, so $2,150 is the total price for the ext leather, not on top of the €1,450.

The base system is the HiFi system. The sheet davo posted says 10 speakers and 200 Watt, Logic7 has 13 speakers and in total about 350 Watt. So the $700 probably are for the Logic7, Individual Audio seems not (yet) to be mentioned in that sheet.

Best regards, south

Best regards, south
Logic7 is the base system in US-spec 335i's. One would suspect that it is the base system in US-spec M3's as well, but we'll see.

EDIT: If repeated posting here ensures that the upgraded sound in the US is the Individual system, well, I'll be a general prior to my order.

I don't think individual audio is going to be available for the US. Thats just my guess though.
