BMW E90/E92 Custom Coding Possiblities!!

http://www.bpmsport.com (New site is in development and will be up soon)

I apologize in advance to serious delays in getting back to NEW customers - we are handling requests as fast as we can.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for looking at this thread. Here you will find a bunch of information on my coding for BMW's, and you can make requests for new features, product development, etc. The coding list is located in my signature, and engine tuning software is also available. We use 100% factory tools only. No third party tools such as an Autologic. Factory programming is better than anything else out there!

I've been waiting for some chipbraniac to come up with that. Could you please explain more for those (buckle and drive) drivers like me with not much electronics background how will i be able to do such a thing. Will I have to take my car somewhere, attach a device to it somehow, ...,... You just made my 2011.

So this is the Bavarian Tech Tool Pro Coding part only. Hmm, how much will you charge for the cable and software?

No, it's not BT. It's a factory BMW program that allows the coding, that you can't buy.

Can't sell it because it's BMW's intellectual property. As far as the cable, you just need a Kline+DCan interface. You can find them around for under $150.'

I wasn't aware that BT had a coding tool, I will have to check into that... It probably does coding of modules to the car, but I doubt it lets you text edit them and then splice it back into the car.

If there is a lot of interest in your area that merits a trip, I'm willing to fly out there to code everyone's car.

But it should be 10+ people to make it worthwhile..

Edit: Remote coding now available!

Hi Mike,

What are you using to code all this ?? NCS ??. I have it but haven't research about it. I know its capabilities are powerful but cryptic too.

Do you have a shop in West LA ??. I'm in LA too so I might stop by to change some settings of my 08 E90 M3 if that's ok with you...

One feature I always wanted, besides getting rid of the warning gong when the key is in and the door is open, is something that is is available in Euro cars, at least it was on E30s, E36 and probably E46s. That is to be able to open/close windows/sunroof without the key in and just with the doors open.

That's a nice feature to have. On E30s is was probably a wiring thing, on E36s it might be a combination of the ZKE5 and wiring, on the E46 probably ZKE5 only and on the E90s it might be programing only but I don't know.

Either way, it's nice to change some of the default settings...

The DVD based CCC navagation system, although it obviously reads DVDs for the navigation disc and music, to my understanding unfortunately does not allow the playing of DVDs on the display.

However, there are modules available that you can add to the car which add DVD playback capability.

I can however change the code in the CCC module to allow video while moving - the rest is up to the external module which hopefully has a PNP harness instead of requiring wire splicing.

So the short answer to your question is that it's not possible, although I can code your module to allow video in motion before the other necessary components are added.

All of the other stuff I can do for you

Yesterday I programmed two 335's that were one of the first ones available (06/06) build. I was surprised at how different the coding is than how my 08 M3 came from the factory. The 335's had a lot of options enabled that I've seen disabled on other cars, such as foglights staying on when you highbeam, etc..

Also, on the 335's I did, if you push the turn signal indicator down when the car is off, it will light up the angel eyes and the tail lights in the back on one side (depending on if you went up/down with the stick). I am in the process of comparing the coding between the CCAPL module on those cars, to mine - to allow for custom coding of additional functions such as those.

Ironically the 335's had a setting in the iDrive which let you set how fast the adaptive lights move when you turn. It had three different options, don't remember what they were but something along the lines of Slow, Normal, and Sensitive. This would be a great option for us to have in our iDrive. Comparing the code will allow me to figure out which options enable that function.

Anyway, I will be in town on the 13th, let me know if you want some coding done!

thanks,
Mike

Did you program to be like that? Both my previous '07 e90 328i & 335i came like that. I obviously have it in my M. The Europeans use it on dark spots of the road when they're parked on which ever side of the car. Anyway, come to Germany get mine coded lol!

If you figure it out please let me know..... We can get the NW Crew all dialed in.

I would love to turn off the orange lights, auto fold mirrors & have the windows roll up from the remote

Nope, his car ironically came from the factory like that, even though it's US spec. My E46 330 also did it.

My M3 does not do it. Would love to get a readout of your modules in Europe for comparison.

I go to Munich once every couple of years, hopefully you are close to there!

I just went out to the garage to confirm as all of my BMW's have done this.

On the M3 you have to hold the lever down or up (depending on which side you want to turn on) for over a second and angels and rear parking lights turn on.

My car is 100% Us Spec (Euro Delivery though)

My wife's Mini also does the same thing.
