Do we run open loop ever?
I searched and found some information saying the e92 ECU always runs in a closed loop regardless of WOT or startup or cruising which obviously is different than any other car. Is this true

Hmmm, good question. I would almost have to assume that the cold startup sequence is in open loop without good input coming from cold o2 sensors. What else would the engine management have to go on but an open loop program?

i would think most thing are happening in close loop now for emissions. emission is everything these days case in point the secondary air pump just to help heat the cats and now i think it even has a maf to make sure its flowing enough air.

Does it run open loop when a CEL, SES, or limp mode is triggered?
