I love both. Coming from a full bolt on tuned m3, and having lived with a c63 coupe for nearly 2 month, I can tell you that both are amazing cars that will sure keep you wanting to drive more. The c63 is more fun and exciting if you like to drift and burn rubber all the time. The m3 is more focused and serious. The exhaust sound of my m3 is better( eisenmann plus full catless xpipe) The c63 is a brute, with just full exhaust and pulley plus a tune, you would be eating tuned corvette z06.
But then again, the 2014 m3 is so tempting, so if you have the patience, just wait and then decide

Test drive the c63 and if it's for you. I came from a fully tune+ bolt on e92 M3 to a C63 sedan and I can tell you it's a beast in stock form. With a OE tune you'll be in the 11's 1/4 walking M5/6. Both cars are nice in their respectable ways. I DD my C63 100% of the time so I chose the C63. Put on some headers for another 40-50hp gain

I love my M3 but a C63 Black Series would be ridiculous! I'll bet the M3 as everyone points out has better handling, but since I don't really think I'll be tracking my car, maybe the upfront torque/hp would be more appealing? I had always had Mercedes' before including this generation C class and that's the major reason I wanted an M3 instead of a c63 AMG--> plus I think the M3 looks a lot better than the stock c63, though the black series is pretty hot.

In my experience, the M3 has slightly better handling that the 2012 C63. However, a C63 Black Series would be the better handling car... it is a beast in all respects and would be more comparable to the M3 GTS than the regular M3.

Before I got my 2012 m3 I went and test drove the c63 coupe just so I knew which one I would like more. I thought the car was incredible. Your absolutely right about the noise it produces but when it comes down to really feeling the road and all the turns BMW will always have Mercedes beat. The c63 is a true beast but it's still a Mercedes. I hope this helped!

I'm in the same predicament as you. i dont track my car neither... I only use it on weekends. If when my car's paid off i cant get a 911 turbo or this car in the black series version for a good price... im just gonna go ESS to get that extra power. I can see myself keeping the M3 for a really long time though. I trully LOVE this car.

I hear you. I'm not too fond of mercedes. The C63 is the only benz i've ever liked enough to consider. Or the NEW CLS63 which is REALLY nice. Reading all these replies makes me want to go test drive a C63 just for shits n giggles! lol

I've never driven a 2012 C63 but I did drive a 2009 C63 at HPT. I wouldn't say the handling is slightly better in the M3. I would say significantly better. As my laps were almost 2 seconds faster in the M3 and it wasn't the tires. I also found the trasmission disappointing.

The C63 was a nice car but I wouldn't own one and track it.

The 2012 C63 is much improved over the 09. Transmission is new, Suspension has been adjusted. I own a 2012 and had a 2010 for a year. It's a big difference in my opinion. I'm not saying it handles better but I can't tell much of a difference between my old 08 M3 and the 2012 C63.

I noticed you said you wanted to get a C63 and then put on the black series bumper/hood/headlights/etc..... You do realize the black series rear fenders are wider than the normal C63? If you put on the entire black series front end, your fronts will be much wider than the rear. So in the end, you will be paying that extra money on a regular C63 when the pricing would come closer to just buying the black series. Thought you should know.

Yes. I just test drove a c63 AMG today; one observation I had was that the exhaust is way more aggressive (The car literally barks when you turn the key). As I scanned the options, I noticed the car comes standard with an AMG performance exhaust. Why couldn't BMW do that with our M3's? The ride quality was better on my M3 and the car felt slightly more stable, but I did appreciate the torque/HP of the C63 much more in my everday driving bandwidth vs. with the M3 I have to hit it a bit harder to feel that. Both are great cars though.

I'll be curious to see what Mercedes comes up with the next C class revision in 2014 (roughly when the new M3 comes out)

And in my experience, after getting gas you head to your local tire installer for new rear tires.

Yeah i shortly opted out of that consideration... I'd rather just test my luck at getting a pre-owned one at a decent price down the road!

Lol well its not like the M3 is that much better on gas. That would be the least of the worries. And it wouldnt be my DD so i wouldn't need to get new tires every month lol

The rear tires tend to last at best 6-7K miles. No joke and that is with someone (Hi ) who did NOT do burnouts.
