USB port in arm rest not working

Has anyone had the aux/usb ports in the arm rest stop working?
I used to use it with the Y cable and my ipod, then I tried using a tune to air WMA3000B and I think it broke it.
The Tune 2 air didn't work (I am returning it) and now the Y cable doesn't work at all.

I don't that is possible. Try a usb with music and see whether it plays. I've had this happen in the past and comes to live after connecting a difference device. Another thing to check is the connection and may be even the fuse. Let us know what you find out!

That's really strange...
I play the whole thing in several formats , but mostly in mp3 .
I download music from Youtube with "the free Youtube to mp3 converter" and I store it in my music map from my laptop , sound quality is pretty good as well.

After this I put in my USB stick from BMW and copy the music map from my laptop on my USB stick , and this works always flowless in the USB-port under the armrest...
But also formats from CD , and formats from other music sites.
Actually I have several USB sticks , also non BMW USB sticks and all play flowless .
I think your situation is not normal , I'm pretty sure something is wrong with your USB connection in your car (check fuse)

Here a pic from my BMW///M USB stick that I use for the moment in the USB port under the armrest ..

I don't think it is the USB stick pretty sure the USB port is dead.
The Aux input is working, but the USB port doesn't power anything.
I checked what I think were all the relevant fuses (those symbols aren't very clear) and they all looked fine.
I did some googling and someone else had something similar which turned out to be a dead relay that required the centre console being tasken out
