Ordered Last night, question about options

Hey... i couldnt resist, ditched my 335i order and ordered the M3 hella excited for sure.

Now i ditched the 19" wheels because I already have wheels that I want to put on the thing. My question is, if it comes with 18" will it look like a 4x4 SUV if i put 19"s on it? will it raise it?

coz on my 335 i put 19's and the gap just became like 4 fingers
if it's gonna raise it, i'll order 19's, sell them then put my own 19's. that's still cheaper than lowering

It's related to tyre size rather than wheel size. As long as the circumference of the tyres is identical then there's no difference between 18 and 19 inch.

Th idea when swapping wheel tire combinations is to keep the OD close to stock. So, if the gap from tire to fender lip got bigger on your 335i when you put on 19s, the OD must have been smaller than that of the 18s. You need to adjust tire profile and/or width to achieve that. That being said, comparing 18s and 19s of the same OD, the gap on the 19s will LOOK bigger, IMO.

Some things to think about:
1) Wheel offset specs are critical to achieving the right look. If you're using wheels from a 335, they won't match right to the larger flare of the M3's wheelwells.
2) The M3 uses wider tires than the 335; may not be compatible with your present wheel width.

It's not just width, but the offset or distance from wheel mounting surface to outside face. What are the width and offset specs on the wheels?

those wheels look familiar...

They're a little skinnier than the OEM 19's, so I assume you're gonna throw spacers on... The wheel style will look great on the car, just make sure they fit nice and flush!

I was told by Crevier's CA's that there was "no chance on MSRP" for the first few months....Hhhmmm, thx for the info.

they opened a couple of spots at MSRP, but rest will be 20k markup. i asked every single dealer in CA, they're all marking up. lowest i got is 2k markup from will@longbeach on E90 M3 only.

if wheels dont look great and make the car look whack i'll get LM's or something else.

when's ur production? what's ur status? they told me im 112, which i have no idea what it is

what options/color/etc you got?

Front wheels seem to work, offset is not ideal though; not sure about the rear wheels since "your" tires have a smaller circumference, again the offset's not that good. Maybe spacers would do.

Best regards, south

He said he's replacing the tires, hopefully with stock size.

okay, let me see if i got this straight.

i will be putting stock tire sizes which are 245/35/19, and 275/35/19. probably PS2's or Eagles.

then i still need spacers possibly for the rears? is it coz offset isnt agressive enough, or is it coz the wheels arent wide enough?

Wheel width is same as stock. Stock rear tires are 265/35-19, not 275. Rear offset is within 2mm of stock; front varies more. I'd try it w/o spacers and only add them if necessary.

265/35/19 rear instead of 275. I'd start with the PS2* Michelin specifically adapted to the M3.

rear can take 275's though. i like to have wider tires than wheels to protect the wheel. reason why i didnt put the LM's on my 335 is coz i would have skinny 265 tires on 19x10 M3 offset. the wheel would stick out
