Well after the next 2 weeks I believe some of the early 6MT buyers in the US will be about a month away from delivery. So, it is almost a certainty that it will.

Was there an MSRP in their system as well? I would find it odd that BMW NA would announce the price of all the options but not the MSRP. However, since your experience seems pretty specific to the dealership you went too I would have to venture a guess that they just put in estimates into their configurator.

I wish it was true, but news like this needs to be backed up with some form of verification. As it's viewed as simply hot air until then.

He's from Switzerland, don't think they have the MSRP for NA.
Dealers can't put in things into the configurator, BMW runs that system.
So if this turns out to be true, the M-DCT will be available in Europe soon; doesn't necessarily mean it's simultaneously available in the US.

You might have overlooked that I live in Switzerland where we have MSRP and option prices since June 2007. M-DCT was just the very last missing option.

6 month delay. Just like the car itself.

I placed an order for a E90 M3 3-4 weeks before the bmw.co.uk website allowed you to configure the car so it's plausible that the dealer system would have the options available well before the website does

Yes, but not necessarily!

I'm member of the MPW, a official BMW website for M - Model drivers and I think that we would know this very early and until now there was no info referring this.

well at least we are getting some news about M-DCT and it is good.

Like others said there is a great possibility that it will be delayed for people in the states. Also just because the exchange rate says the us version will cost 5 grand doesnt mean it will cost 5 grand, otherwise we would have to cough up almost 100 grand after converting from pounds.

I understand the 6 month delay in bringing the M3 to the US but why another 6 month delay for bringing M-DCT. Just doesn't make sense. If it's in production than we should be getting it as it's produced.

Exactly. It will prob cost $2,000- $2,500 for it as an option here. They won't price it at $5,000 cause then they will loose a lot of sales. Believe it or not most people buying the M3 in the US will prob be interested in an automatic more than a manual.

I expect to cost the same or even less than the E46 M3 SMG option, (<=$2400)...

SMG over here was 3000; now DCT is 5000. I doubt that BMW are so desperate that they just give away stuff. Keep on dreaming...

I talked to my dealer today and they said that the option for my car that is already on order, is NOT available... I asked him if they had heard anything or seen anything lately about it on their site or sales associates and said not at all..... Just give me the option please!!!!!!!!! He said that he would only give me till the 15th of Jan to add options before it goes into production so BMW release it soon...like within the next ten days or so!
