Engine Question

Yesterday I noticed that when I took my car past 7000 rpms a light came on saying engine malfunction reduced power. I turned the car off and started it back up and it when away. Sure enough once I took it up to higher rpms it did the same thing. I noticed that the car lowered the redline so I wouldn't be able to even get to 8000. But the third time i started the car up it went away and didn't do it anymore. My car was tuned about 3 months ago but have never had this problem before.

Has anybody had this problem in there M before, I just figured that I would check here before I call my service advisor.

Thanks for the help,
-Corey

Did you do any engine mods or tune? Is it DCT?

Yeah the engine is tuned and it is a manual car, it only did it today for the first time. I am going to try it tomorrow if it still does it I will give my SA a call.

it might be the tune that's causing the issues. You can have it reset and see if it happens again when you red line it. Only problem is, tech will see the tune right away and might give you problems...good luck nevertheless and keep us posted please.
