Just collected my car today, it's a end May production E92 DCT, stalled twice, once in a parking garage and once as I was turning into my home. Both at slow speed though. Hope it's a software bug.
Other than that, the car is awesome!

Mine is early June production...no stalls yet, but I have onlyhad it a few days so far. I will report back if I have an issue. The only thing I have noticed is an rpm surge once in a while at low speeds (nearly every time when in reverse)...maybe this is a software fix for the stalling? I guess its possible.

The rpm boost is probably the low speed assist, or a rough idle when the car is cold. Sometimes I don't want the assist, such as when I am pulling out of the driveway. Have to brake which seems to deactivate it, so I can let the car slowly roll down the steep driveway curb.

No stalls (or lag) with 6MT unless you have brain stall. Glad I waited on the new technology. Maybe next time.

No more stalls, even in the parking garage yesterday in the hotlanta heat. I am going to have to write up a full 1500mi review of the DCT. It is so much better than the SMG, which I drove for 5.5 years. However, I don't think I like the low speed assist. There are some people who will resist the new better tech, but they will ultimately see what they are missing. So long as the dealer doesn't change the fluid.

Ok, hear's the deal
As some of you folks might of read, My BRAND new car Stalled a few times , and had the transmission malfunction light come on from the time I bought the car.
The car went back to the Stealer 12 hours later. BMW will not even give me the car back. They are willing to give me a brand new car if I want to wait a few weeks for one just like mine, or wait for a 09 to order for the same price. P.S I paid $ 1000.00 over invoice for the 08. I traded a 07 Porsche 997 Twin Turbo and now I wish I had kept my old car. If I cancel, I will lose $4600 IN TAX SAVINGS. They got me by the NUTS. Any ideas. Scott |

If it's the dealer, they might be worried you could make it a safety issue and they could be liable. If BMWNA wants to keep the car, that's a different story....

And in the meantime you've already paid for a car you can't use?

+1, no matter how good of a driver u are i really find that hard to believe.
I would def. say I am anywhere close to being as good as a professional driver but i can hold my own. The other day I was getting ready to make a turn and there was a blind spot So i slowly creeped out and a range rover comes blazing down a road with a 20mph speed limit at around 50 while Im slowly creeping out. I had already engaged first and going around 6 mph when I had to slam on the breaks. Thing was I didnt press the clutch fast enough and I stalled the car. Sure beats getting in an accident though

Funny you posted a reply today, here's the latest.
BMW thru the dealer offered to give me the only car in the states that was just like the one I ordered. After finding out the car was headed for CA, and then back to NC, and then back to me. I declined, the wait would have been three weeks. Now they are giving me the first build spot in Sept for a new 09. They gave me all my money back for the 08 except for a deposit on the new car, I can order it any way I want at $500 over invoice. I think I am doing the correct thing, any comments? The conversation will go something like this: "Yea, I was rockin' the shit out of it, getin' the looks and all, and went to slow down. The V8 was like 'give me gas or f**k you', so I took her back out." M_DCT
