Sounds like the right move, best of luck.

So it turns out my two right wheels are slightly bent and the vibration at 80mph+ is still there after rebalancing. F NYC roads, F NYC roads straight to hell.

What's funny is the vibrations came afer bbk install and first pad bedding.

Sucks to hear the news but good to find out what was causing the vibrations. Can they repair the wheels or do you have to buy replacements?

Going for the square wheel setup?

I'm going to have the wheels 'un-bent' this week and hopefully it'll cure the issue. I just hope it isn't a brake or suspension issue.

Yes sir. The pads worked like a charm. If you get the Hawk blue pads just install them and drive around town until the 'brake shaking' is gone. Then swap back the old pads. I went a little overboard but I didn't need to.

I emailed Apex about their 50% off warranty to see if I can ship them my bent wheels and get two new wheels. Hopefully they're still doing it.

I didn't realize Apex offered that, nice if they do. Which wheels do you have?

Not too bad and I was driving on them on some pretty cold days too with no heat in the brake system

No sir. I've had super good luck with the Stoptech street performance pads on both street and track. I'm taking them off tonight and swapping the street pads back in.

had this happen to me this weekend and was getting some serious steering wheel vibration during hard braking. not sure if it's the rotors or pads that causing this. i need to remove pads for further inspection.

It's got to be pad deposit.
The other possible cause is over torqued wheels.

thanks for the reply bro. brake deposit is new to me since i barley got my BBK used. i knew the rotors where at the min % usage when i bought them but thought i could squeeze a few track events. After the first track day this is what they look like.

is there a lip at the edge of the rotor? What pads are you using?
What pads are you using? The Street Sport pads that come with the kit are prone to pad deposits even with proper bedding. It happened to me when i first got my ST60/St40 kits.

Not sure what to say about your rotors. I've read those cracks are ok, but you seem to have a LOT of them. Luckily, ST rotors are much cheaper that other kits.

Those look really tame compared to what my AP Racing j-hook rotors look like at the moment, lol. What do they look like when heated up after the track? Mine look nearly smooth when at track temperatures. For me, I don't have a minimum depth I have to worry about - I'm told they will be done long before they get to that point, but if I somehow did, the j-hook grooves would be nearly gone.

My race rotors always cracked (catch a finger nail sized cracks -- float test failed...) long before they wore out.

dumpm3, those rotor faces look normal and not bad for tracked ST rotors. Can't attest to the grooving (can't see that well in pics on phone).

ya that's what I've been reading that the heat cracks are normal if you track or heat them up pretty good. but the vibrations i got from the track were pretty bad. i do have new rotor rings to swap since these are at the minimum thickness stoptech recommend to replace.
