EVO mag RS5/IS-f/C63/M3 comparo (no scans in here)
Great article just published. You should all check it out, very well written. As always from EVO.
Results are below 4 - RS5 - 3.5/5. Basically saying that there are so many adjustable features but none work...at all 3 - ISF - 4.5/5 2 - C63 - 5/5 1 - M3 - 5/5 Also had a track test Bedford Autodrome West circuit 4 - C63 - 1:28.8 3 - IS-F - 1:28.1 2 - M3 - 1:27.0 1 - RS5 - 1:26.9 M3 got 1:27.0 because they used their long-termer and the brakes had already faded by the time they did their flying lap causing them to make a mistake in a certain section. |

With this sample on record as well as the two other recent posts where the two cars are playing follow-the-leader through the twisties, these two cars are closer together than half past six.
The minor nod may go to the Audi, since it "won" two out of these three contests, albeit by the slimmest of margins. Yeah, yeah. Brakes. But all M3s trash their brakes in short order on track. Bimmer still wins on overall sporty points, based on steering feel and fun factor when you're out strafing the back roads. Great competitors. |
