Not true at all...thats an urban legend, so far it had been easier to take care of this car than my previous Black E60 M5....I would never use a car wash regardless of the car anyway...

some good points on here, and what I mean by badass enough is I guess in terms of what the car can do in comparison to others and how it looks. I guess to me when you have these bold colors they make a big statement. So does the M3 make that statement to the general public or is it like a "ricer" I know everyone sees things different I just wanted some observations.
the orange and green are indeed bold and look very cool. I also agree that a moded car works with all these colors because well a modded car is badass enough no question, or usually. so for weekend play and track they work imo. but daily not sure they do.

In a sea of whites, greys, blacks, and silvers, colors are a refreshing sight. I sometimes feel that people are color blind. The M3 is a small car and looks great in blues, reds, and such. I think the bigger problem is the way people cosmetically destroy the looks of the car. The west coasters and southern florida guys destroy their cars with wings, stickers, ugly wheels, and such. I've seen some cars on this forum that I wouldnt be caught dead in. I dont care how much they spent on it. Its the ricer crowd that "graduated" from asian cars to german cars. The M3, since the E46, has been a ricer favorite.

This thread cracks me up. The title especially. At the end of the day, do what you think looks good. People are already going to judge you for driving a newer BMW. Would I rock GT3 rs green on a M3? No. But I think it can pull off LSB.

I too had a yellow 370z before the M3. And I had to say that car looked awesome in yellow and got attention everywhere I went. I still miss it

The M3 on the other hand is on a totally different end of the spectrum. Cars like the 370z, corvette, camaro, viper, cayman, 430, gt3, gallardo, and others look aggressive, mean, and fast even standing still. The are bespoke sports coupes. That's why flashy colors like green or yellow or orange look good on them. The M3 on the other hand looks more tame and soft in all forms (sedan, coupe, convertible). The body lines are much smoother, the interior is more luxury-focused, and the platform is based on a volume-selling family car. Aggressive and flashy colors just go against the theme of the car. I personally think even red is too flashy for this car.

I mean a gt3RS, Lambo , ferrari, etc are all cars that can definatly pull these colors off with ease. they are usually weekend cars though.

So as a daily driver does the M3 do it? I would love to have one of these colors but I would not be able to drive that everyday, I would feel weird.
what do you think?
I think it pulls off Dakar, Fire Orange and Java Green (to be specific) VERY well. And LSB...

My son has a Specialized bike in the same orange as the Limerock ed. I don't think that it's about the vehicle, I think that it's about the driver. He seems to have the attitude to pull it off.

Strange, that was the most fluourescent bike in the store and I was dreading him picking that one. He actually manages to pull it off.

Like someone else said, the m3 is a benchmark car and deserves to be noticed. I would love a java green or yellow one. I hate thinking people would mistake it for a run of the mill 3 series.

IMO the bests colors are Alpine White and Frozen Silver (both with blk exterior trim)…see pics…I might seem biased but I believe these two colors shows the e92 lines the best…

Badass??? Yes, it is a badass for any occassion...
Frozen blue metallic actually shows the lines best

I disagree, I think my M3 look aggressive, mean and fast, it is basicly stock and I don't think it look tame and soft!

Some of you guys seem to care way too much about what other people think of your car. IMO if it looks good to me...it looks good to me! I would never rule a color on my personal car out thinking "what would random people think of this flashy color". If the car was for business (Realtor, Sales Rep, etc.) then of course the goal is different.

Personally I think the brighter colors look great on a coupe or convertible...not a sedan. I guess my line of thinking is that they go more on sportier cars and the 2 doors are sportier looking than the 4 doors. My only exception is that taxi cab yellow...I wouldn't want anyone to think I drive a taxi cab ...or I just think it's ugly in my mind lol.
