98 M3 Sedan, 5 speed, estoril blue, 137,xxx miles
Guess who looked long and hard for a nice Estoril Blue 5 speed M3 Sedan, test drove several, found a good one, bought it, spent $2000 fixing it up and then impregnated his wife a week later? THIS GUY!!! I bought this car in January, spent some dough fixing the stereo, new deck, new amp, 100% rewire, fixed the HID headlights, installed M50 intake, claybarred the paint, wax, polish, leather conditioner and then I found out I would be a father again. So I am putting this beauty up for sale. The guy I bought it from used it as a daily driver, he was the 2nd owner. All of the mods except the M50 intake were done by the previous owner. He had shops do all of the work, the car comes with a ton of receipts dating back to 2007ish. 136,xxx miles Clean CA title and carfax, I can provide a copy of carfax. Technique Tuning Stage 2 Turbo System installed by the M Shop in Nov of 2010 (with $6000 in receipts from the install alone, the turbo kit was another $7500) M50 manifold swap parts from m50manifolds.com Compression test shows 164-171psi with throttle closed. Leakdown shows 4-12% this engine is strong. 18" E46 style silver M3 wheels Nitto 265/35/18 rear tires, 235/40/18 fronts. 80% tread Custom 2 tone black/tan leather interior done 2 years ago. Bilstein Shocks, stock springs Stromburg catback exhaust with factory O2's Recent Sachs Clutch 30k mile service recently performed, new gaskets, belts, coolant flush etc AC blows cold, recently serviced. OEM "X" brace Depo glass headlight lenses with HID's Upgraded speakers, custom box with 10" sub in corner of trunk, new Double DIN Alpine deck and amp. Slotted rotors Greddy Profec B Spec II boost controller Clear taillights with amber signals Clear corners with amber signals fresh NGK spark plugs that are the correct heat range and gap Paint is in excellent condition for a 16 year old car. Has several dings most of which could be pulled with paintess dent repair. Photos of trouble spots can be seen in link below. Car drives great, no check engine lights. BMW computer shows low beam failure due to HID's and "brake light circuit" on occasion, the brake lights work just fine. Im not getting much interest, am I asking too much? This is close to what I paid for it prior to fixing all the minor issues and dumping $2000 into it. I am still taking a loss on it...I am open to any input. Is the ad missing any details?
Thanks, Trent |

- Modded cars are harder to sell in general - M3post might not be the best place to get a quick sale. Don't know that many people wanting to go from E9x to E36, but I'm sure there's someone that'd want to add this as a second car. I'm sure it'll sell eventually, might have to be a little patient. Good luck!! With the sale, and being a dad again haha.

Hard to gauge on price, but from the pics in the link I see a lot of little things that would bother me if paying that price or anything close to it. And I am currently looking for an E36 M3/4/5 to have and hold for the future for when I DO have children since the E92 won't be getting car seats.
Although, just my opinion... GLWS, still an awesome example...

Great first line and beautiful car.
Prices are hard to guage on these cars. The mods sound really cool, but finding someone to pay a premium for them will prove to be a difficult task. Try listing at bmwcca.org and ebay. May get better results there. Bill |

Thanks guys. The car still has the california plates from the guy I bought it from. They are good until June so I don't plan on paying for AZ plates until I have to.
I did remove the front plate and replaced the impact strip that was missing due to the front plate mounting. I replaced it with a new OEM unit. I will try posting it on the other forum mentioned. The baby isn't due until September so I have some time to be patient. |
