Long Island Car Wash
As the winter approaches many people will no longer be hand washing their cars themselves. In the past i have always washed my car myself by hand even in the winter. It has yet to see a car wash but as the temperatures get colder its crazy to wash the car yourself in the winter. Last year my driveway would become a solid sheet of ice after washing. I realize it is insane to wash your car when it is 30 or colder outside and that is why I was wondering of the best possible car wash that is on long island.
Please weigh in, all suggestions are appreciated. I no this was discussed in the past but it has been a while and many car washes have opened and closed as well as changed in wash quality in that time. |

Really nice. I wish I had something like that by me in Suffolk. I notice it is a hand wash. I have a hand wash by me but they never use clean mitts. They just go from one car to the next without rinsing the mitts and damage up the paint. Does this wash do it right by constantly rinsing the wash mitts to avoid swirls and scratches?

Just went to five corners in New Hyde Park yesterday. Supposedly the first hand car wash in NY and they give great service, very detail oriented. One thing I liked that they do where I haven't seen anywhere else before is they take an air gun and blow out any excess water from the cracks and from the engine bay. And they actually polish the exhaust pipes which is nice. Cost about 24.95, which is a bit more than I'm used to, but from the service, it was worth it. They do a good job hitting all the spots. Also helps the register girl is cute :P.
I was going to try ultra sonic at first, but i've read other reviews from different forums complaining about long waits and some ended up having swirl marks on the paint after coming out, which didn't sit well with me. The belt drive and ice cream is a great idea, but hearing people getting swirl marks on paint made me a bit weary. Hope some more people can share there experiences from there. Car Wash 2000 in Fresh Meadows (along the LIE) is ok when it isn't too busy. I notice when its packed is when they tend to make mistakes. You can see where they don't hit some spots on the body panels. On non busy days, they do an alright job. |
