Dealer told me today...

that 2009 Sedan orders not being accepted by system for 90 to 120 days....he said the '09 coupes can be ordered now but not sedans..perhaps waiting for new iDrive and 3 series to be introduced first......anyone else hear the same thing.....Car and Driver had a 3 series test drive recently and noted they will be in showrooms in January'09 ...which may be why M3 sedans are delayed until after the new 3series intro....

Might be an Allocation issue. Dealers get Allocations of cars to sell. If there is no M3 Sedan Allocation then the order is delayed. M3 Coupes are more popular so there are more Allocations.

Ask him to trade a M3 Coupe Allocation for a M3 Sedan Allocation. 2009 BMW Models are already coming off the BMW Line as of last week.

Cheers,

Like nyc dude said, it's all about allocation and is dealer-dependent. Example, my dealer was allocated two E93 verts that none of their customer's wanted, so they traded it with another dealer who had customers that wanted verts for an E92 coupe and E90 sedan allocation. Problem solved. Perhaps your dealer can do the same for you.

Or find another dealer. From recent posts it sounds like other BMW dealers in TX are giving outstanding deals on ordered '09 M3s (eg, MSRP-$4K)

I think your dealer is BS-ing you. As nyc_dude stated, it's probably that your dealer can't order a sedan because he doesn't have an allocation. Most other dealers can. There are plenty of people on this board with '09 sedans in production or about to go into production.
Two more weeks and mine will be done!!!!

The thing is, when a dealer tells you something that contradicts what you have heard on M3Post, the dealeships is wrong 100% of the time. This is a simple rule to live by (at least in the US), and will keep you happy and well informed. Cheers.

would that be the heavy steel roof that adds 400lb to the car
or the super lightweight carbon fiber roof ?
which is available only on the superior E92

Looks like the OP is not the only one who is being told this (see post #5):

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...42#post3525842

Anyone here have an E90 M3 set for production right now?

M3 Sedan Titanium SilverPaint

CA told me that Western Regional advised him that BMW "national" told him that the 2009 M3 sedan will have titanium silver paint available as a standard paint.

Standard metallic paint charge applies.

Anyone verify ?

Based on this, which was released only a week ago, the start of production for the '09 E90 M3 is September 2008.

EDIT: Oops, left off the link to the '09 ordering guide (see page 2):

My rockin' CA from Southbay BMW in LA, Cali ordered me a new 2009 Interlagos Blue Fox Red DCT M3 e90 Sedan right in front of me with Week 41 Production. Today meaning Sept. 5, 2008. I didn't even pay for it yet and he ordered it.

M3 e90 Sedan Allocations in the US are very slim as in each dealership might have only 1-2 for September and they might be gone already. Allocations for Coupes are higher.

I think the CA mentioned a Priority 5 Allocation which allows you to get an earlier build date if available.

BTW One bad thing about Week 40-43 Production Dates and one word sums it up....

Octoberfest.... It is legal to show up for work completely plastered.

I will probably end up with a VW, BMW, Mini, Opal Frankenstein Car. (j/k).

Cheers,
