Guys met another new M owner last night. His name is Nisi. Local to Quincy /Boston area! We are starting to multiple and may be in double digits for owners in the northeast....haha.
I just got back from driving to SC. Holy crap that was a long drive. I met a few M guys along the way in NC AND SC. Couldn't relieve I did not see 1 M the entire ride until I got into NJ on Sunday. MR E92 with bronze rims. Sharp looking. I have to say with the VF 540 on the car it do not disappoint. No issues the entire way and the guys I met up with we're blown away by the performance in comparison to a FBO M3. Very happy with the product. And the best thing was if I had any issues all I have to do is reflag the new file (car was doing some weird inhibition timing thing) and I quickly uploaded it which is about a 5 minute process and the car was fine. Truly unbelievable how great a car this is for the money. 2000+ mile drive plus some track time in VIR and everythig was fine. Car now has 42000 miles on it and personally it just keeps aging better with time. If I took my TTRS down I would have been miserable with the drive due to how uncomfortable the car is and the stiff ride for the long road trips. The only thing that was sore was my right leg from not being able to rest it comfortably when in cruise control. Gosh I love this car. When are we all going to get together? |

My car has been at the port of exit for two weeks. Hopefully it is loaded onto a vessel this week. If so, I'll be adding to the double digit count and perhaps something for a late May meeting.

but looking at the cars that were there, it was definitely a turn off. cars from the 80s and 90s that probably cost 4k used with another 4k in mods...not my piece of cake |

I was there, initial parking lot was full so i had to go to the second. It was really disappointing, cheap cars w cheap mods. And the 1hr trying to get in didn't make anything better.

I was at the masstuning meet.. it was not bad if you were able to get into one of the garages and i had no issues.. you could easily walk to the other garages to look around... would i go again? probably not... but I had to attend at least one MT meet to satisfy my curiosity.
I counted at least six e92 M3's there (not including mine).. every single one of them alpine white.. you would think the car only came in one color ROFL! |

Enjoy your current M3 and wait until the LCI version. By this time most of the issues should have been worked out and the tuners will have products. Also you will avoid the mark-up from the initial years.

Yes wait for the LCI and just like the new M5 there are expected to be better Competition Packages and/or special edition versions coming from BMW M.

agreed, never buy first year models. Just look at happened with the current M3. Anyone who got prior 2009 is now stuck with the old Idrive, and everyone prior to 2011 has pre lci tail lights (easy retrofit but nonetheless). and all the special additions like the limerock, frozens,...
I also wouldn't be surprised if the next gen M4 woud have some sort of HP boost sometime along its life. In the end it doesn't REALLY matter since ur getting an amazing machine after all, but you'll always see newer cars with newer options and specs that you don't have. Not the best feeling in the world |
