Post M3 lease rates (money factor and residuals) came out today

My dealer left me a message and said that the M3 lease numbers came in today... I have not been able to contact him yet, but I am wondering if anyone else here knows of their dealer telling them the M3 lease numbers. If not, then as soon as my dealer calls me up I will post an update.

EDIT:

Coupe & Sedan MF: .00275 (same as 335i I think)

Haven't heard anything yet--but I'm very interested. Will call dealer tonight.

This is for 36 months?

This makes no sense, Quick caculations on lease payments for a $70k M3 come out to about $1400 a month with 8% tax included. For BMW where 65% of the cars are leased they are removing themselves from the market.

I need confirmation of this.

Especially during its introduction...What were people thinking exactly--that they would be able to walk away with it at less than a grand a month?

The E92 M3 is going to be a very hard car to get for some people. I can't wait to see what they are gonna do on the used market. People are definitely gonna flip these cars.

The E90 M3 on the other hand is going to be a car that BMW will beg people to take by next year. I'm not saying it is not a great car, I mean I want one, but the demand for it is basically non-existant from what I have seen. My dealership has 6 E90 M3's so far in the order bank. 0 of them are filled. The E92 M3 on the other hand is packed. BMW is gonna try to get as much money out of the E92 as possible. Plain and simple pricing based on demand.

I believe the number given was for a 36 month lease. The 24 month leases are where you see the good residual values.

I was estimating around $1250 for a lease payment, not $1400.

One more thing. Another reason that the payments are gonna be on the steep side is because the M3 has a cult following. I'm sure everyone has seen the tv commercial where BMW blatantly says that they started a cult following. People are going to bite the bullet and take a broom stick up the butt by BMW just to have this car.

Exactly. The "concept" of a residual is meaningless at this stage. They will tweak the numbers until they arrive at monthly payments that they think people will pay. That's why I'm buying. Can't say how things will look in 2 years, but that's the way it is for now. People have this notion in their minds that they should be able to lease a M3 for much less than a M5. Not necessarily. Not now at least.

One reason why I personally think the E90 M3 is not gonna do well. People are gonna see that the numbers are gonna be close between the E60 M5 and E90 M3.

not necessarily true. yah it's higher residual, but 45% over 3 years is better than 35% over 2 years. do the math u'll end up with a much higher payment for 24 month than 36
