How often does the mighty Mike go to Europe? :-) Would love to have the MDM option on my 6MT with iDrive... Has anyone done this before in EU?

I've done retrofits on cars in Europe remotely, so this is not a problem. The hardest part of installing the SZL is removing the airbag. It's a piece of cake after that...

So if you want to have it done let me know!

michaeldorian: Thank you!

Awesome stuff here.. Mike I sent you an email through your website a couple weeks ago, no response yet. I know you get a huge volume of messages, but I am very interested in doing this for my car. I'm offshore now but I will give you a call when I get back to the states

Ok, but can you toggle between M and non-M mode?

I just ordered the hardware. I have the coding done for cic but isn't showing on cluster so I think this is indeed needed. Will report back once I get the new hardware in.

Power Steering Pump for M Drive upgrade

Hi all,

I have successfully upgraded my m3 e92 manual transmission with the MDM. But the sport servotronic steering is far away from the feeling of the one in an originally equipped mdm m3 with dct. So far i could find out, that the power steering pump in my car is not strong enough to deliver that stiffer servotronic sport feeling like in an originally equipped m3 with mdm.

So my question is, does anyone know which part number corresponds to the "stronger/more powerful" power steering pump. There are several different ones:

№ Beschreibung Supplement Teilenummer S. Datum E. Datum Gewicht Price
01 Lenkhilfepumpe 32 41 2283041 2008/06 1,890 kg € 420,00
01 Lenkhilfepumpe 32 41 2283003 2008/06 2010/07 1,790 kg € 425,46
01 Lenkhilfepumpe 32 41 2283002 2008/06 1,790 kg € 504,00

taken from this site: http://bmwteilekatalog.info/BMW/P/E9...37/32412283002

By the way my m3 is a european model, since i am living in europe .

Hope someone can help me out on that.

Cheers

Stefan

New M3 owner.. need HELP regarding MDM option

I just picked up a 2013 M3 e92(6 speed manual) with Tech package .. It has M-mode but no EDC.

From all the research I have done so far it seems like all M3s with m-mode come with MDM option.

However, I have tried all the different setting on my idrive, and I have messed around with the m-button but I cant figure out how to turn on(activate) MDM mode.

Is it true all M mode cars come with MDM? if so, can someone please help me figure out how to turn is on??

thanks
