Whats crackin' e90 post? New member!

What's going on? My name's Sam, and I just wanted to say hello to the members on the forum. I'll get some pics of my car when it comes back from the shop. I recently got in a huge accident ($27,000 worth of damage), and my car's been gone for four months. Wow, it was torture waiting for the parts to ship from Germany.

Anyblaze, I'm here to stay! After I drove my uncles X5 .. for some reason I knew I had to have a bimmer. After my 3 year lease is done (in 2 years), I hope to stay with the family(Hopefully M3).

Cheers!

Welcome! $27k damage? Seems like that thing should be totaled, no? I mean, if it's that wrecked, it may not ever drive the same again.

Yes, the car is salvaged. Yes, the car doesn't drive the same (from what my parents say). I am a rookie, didn't know how to treat the problem. The BMW dealership referred me to a shop.. I think I got jipped.. who knows? But I got t-boned at the rear right wheel. Axel damage, my back bumper fell off on the right side... and a door took damage, the one next to it seemed fine but didn't open... one air bag was released.

I can say one thing though... the e90 can take a beating.. really the car that hit me (Ford Focus) was totalled ($14,000 damage). My wheel bent in.. not even a crack. I'm very thankful! Especially, if was in a weak car... the accident could've been worse. Thank God.

In addition, after my accident my mother told me she was planning to buy the car over after the lease was done. Wow, I messed up this time. Just a wake up call for me I guess... I can look forward to working hard, and purchasing a better car.

Car is still in the shop

I'm pretty sad, because I didn't get my car manual.

If the car was a total loss, why did your insurance company fix it? Why didn't you just get the check and buy a new car? If it was a lease, why not just lease something new?

Only my right wheel bent in, and some minor damages... bumper and door.

So I have no clue... I guess the car isn't considered totaled =/ I hope it drives well, but from what my dad is telling me... it doesn't. Then again, he barely drove the car... so I'm hoping for the best.

Minor damages? Didn't you say $27,000 in damages?

Well, I did ruin the back rear axel... So I'm assuming new sports suspension was needed. I don't know too much about cars... I really wish I was with the e90 post community at the time. I know most memebers are very helpful, but what's done is done... My insurance is probobly asking for $1,000 a month now.

2 accidents, $2,000 speeding ticket (120mph), red light, 19 years old...

Can you say OUCH? & please I dont need any flames... I live and learn.

Well, I hope you do. I can't say I haven't been there. When I was 19, I was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with the potent LS1 engine. With long tube headers and a few other modifications, it was not only fast, but loud.

Let's just say I got in some trouble here and there, but I learned my lesson pretty quickly. I hope you do the same. Your parents are very generous to let you drive a BMW at such a young age. Good for you! Just don't disappoint them anymore.

And I'm off my soapbox.

Forsure, at a point I was very dissapointed... I consider myself a car enthusiast... I really wanted to have a feel for my car. I really wanted MT... but I blame the stealership for feeding me lies. 2 weeks after I purchase my car, the coupes and 335s come out. & for some reason I didn't want a 4 door manual car... I'm just young and confused, heh.

Well, at least you drive something as nice as a new BMW! There will be plenty of time in your life for better cars. I just turned 24 in January and I am getting my first BMW in four or five weeks!

I've been through my ups and downs in life... I went from wanting an integra/RSX/evo MR ... to making up my mind and I wanted a MT g35 (BOY WAS I DUMB). So my family decided to walk to the neighboring BMW dealership. I drove the 325i, and it wasn't exciting to drive for some reason. I check out the 330i the next day, and it was mine. My only problem is, I was a troublemaker at the time... one f*ck up can cost me my car(I'm greatful to have amazing parents). I rushed it and decided to buy the car... without doing any research. I use to be very gullable, so the stealership fed me lies.. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD THE DEALER TOLD ME ALPINE WHITE 3 SERIES DONT COME WITH BLACK INTERIOR!!!!!!

My heart was broken when I saw the coupes come out, especially the 335s with a twin turbo... Not knowing how to drive manual well at the time really made me think twice about getting it. Traffic in LA sucks, but people say only lazy people complain about having MT in a busy zone.

But I guess none of this matters right? My car is salvaged.. My parents aren't going to buy the car over after the lease... I can only man up, and learn how to drive manual.. and dream about driving an e92 M3.

120mph speeding ticket... living and learning? i think thats just stupidity on your part. you don't have to live & learn to know not to go that fast.
