never mind I just pulled the M6 out and the M3 to compare the difference between the GP thunder vs stock and all I could say is WOW huge difference. Still amazes me how well they work for 20 bucks. Highly recommend. Great review on a great product.

Hi all,

My driver side OEM H8 angel eyes bulb went out, and I found this thread.

I ordered GP Thunder H8 7500K from this person on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160931048705...84.m1497.l2649

However, I noticed the bulbs are very slanted to the right (see attached pix) and they still give out yellow-ish color (they appear to be this exact color when looking in person http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...MW%20M3/12.jpg)

please help me determine if these bulbs are fake?

Regards,
M

That doesn't look normal to me. My bulbs were perfectly straight. How much did you pay?

The GP thunder bulbs are extremely cheap generic bulbs... I would not doubt that quality control is not up to par.

Success. Thanks for the DIY. All the precautions you gave helped with an easy breezy install. My hands didn't get cut up this time around.

Hey guys, just wanted to check on this b/c I am seeing conflicting things - you can access the lighting module from the hood on an E9X m3? I'm seeing references to people having to take the wheel off and enter from the wheel well?

You're correct, open the hood and you'll see an access panel in the M3.

From a thread here:

I think the references you are seeing are probably for the PY24W turning light, like the one shown here. The lights we are talking about are all accessible from the front.

The H8 (halo) and the H3 (cornering) can be accessed from inside the engine bay. To replace the D1S HID bulb you have to go through the wheel well - remove wheel and remove splash panels. Don't know about the turn signal.

Thanks for doing this DIY! It was very helpful and I also installed the GP Thunder H8 35w 7500k. They are definitely whiter than the stock bulbs. I got them off ebay for less than $13.00 shipped.

Although right side was pain to install, it was great DIY. Thanks OP.

How do you have the cornering lights on and not the main head lights? Even with my headlight switch in A mode i could not get the cornering lights to come on

You have to turn the wheel to the left to get the left cornering light to turn on. And turn wheel to the right to get the right Corning light to turn on.
