I am stopping by there tomorrow to have the Texas annual vehicle inspection done. Will check in with a sales person while I'm waiting and letcha know what they say.

I could not wait so I started emailing... I have found something almost like what I wanted to order except the fact that it does not have extended leather, it has black novillo leather instead, in rest it has everything on it... a Coupe. Can someone please tell me which are the difference between novillo extended and novillo leather? I am talking about black leather anyway, with a Mineral White colour of the car.

Does it worth waiting 30-45 days to get the extended leather or just wait one week until I get the one without the extended leather?

Thank you.

If you look there, http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=432, I have already received two offers from the same dealer, one for a configured car and one for a car that will enter the dealership very soon so no more waiting. What do you guys think about the prices I got? Thank you.

I just bought a 2011 E92 from Advantage BMW in Midtown (Houston) and was treated well and got a good deal. There is a Houston M Club that you can get info on in this same Southwest section. Houston Coffee & Cars meets the first Saturday of each month just north of the city averaging around 1500 cars every month. Do a Google search for info on that. Again, welcome to Texas!
May I ask what part of Katy you're in? Just wondering. I'm in Cinco Ranch.
I'm in Westheimer Lakes on the west side of Katy. Looks like we're neighbors!

I was just wondering... how is the quality of the roads in Texas? Are the roads ok with no pot holes?

I have been in Europe detached on different projects but at least then I was kind of closer to home and I had a weekend at home once a month, this time the move will be final, I will only go home to my folks for Christmas. Mainly because your allowed to keep the fruit of your labor. The economy in Texas is booming so finding a job won't be as hard. The people are some of the nicest people I've ever run into. Your allowed to own guns. Your money goes a long way. You're allowed to purchase drinks 16oz. or greater in size. The weather. There are many more reasons. These are just a few. My parents are from Eastern Europe (Albania and Montenegro). They both gave everything up to come here and they absolutely love it here.

Sugar Land is the best suburban city to live in the Houston area. It is highly developed and there are plenty of restaurants and shopping. But like others said, for a single guy looking for night life and bars, you'll have to head to Midtown and Galleria area.

Back to Sugar Land, all the good stuff is around Hwy 59 and Hwy 6, where there is Sugar Land Town Center--which does have a few bars. The streets are pretty nice and smooth since Sugar Land is relatively new. But as for Houston in general, the roads are pretty terrible. There are plenty of pot holes and there is non-ending construction and traffic congestion every where. But you'll get use to the rough roads (memorize which lanes have pot holes and uneven surfaces).

I sometimes wonder if we're driving on second-hand pavement imported from bombed-out Somalian highways....

Ahhhh, and if you see someone driving and weaving drunk all over the road; it's often a pot hole diversion route.

Thinking... where will I stay? Houston or Sugar Land? Close to fun or close to work? That's a hard one.

If you live inside the loop and work in Sugar Land, you will generally being going against the majority of commuters so the traffic shouldn't be too bad. But having said that it is still going to be a good drive to and from work...

I personally would live as close as possible to work since you would be driving to work more often than going to the fun spots (right?) You'll see how terrible Houston traffic is soon enough heh.

another thing to keep in mind - I don't know how much OP plans to go out, but as a single guy I would expect it to be at least 1-2 nights a week:

the drive to/from work will typically be during the day, with some risk of minor accidents and lost time

the drive to/from fun/nightlife places will be at night, with a much higher risk of drunk drivers (a major problem on us-59, the main route between Houston and Sugar Land) and much higher law enforcement presence looking for fast cars to pull over

also, I grew up near the sugar land area and the bars in town center suck

Right now I am still staying at the hotel but very soon I will have to lease an appartment and I am shocked about the reviews I am reading in this area... for example Enclave at Woodbridge in Sugar Land sucks a lot. Do any of you know something that you can recommend that it is worth renting in Sugar Land? Thanks.

Inside the loop they are pretty bad, but you'll learn to avoid the worst of it after a while. Just make sure you got meaty tires. I run low-profiles and it was downright evil on my rims until I learned optimum routes.

Are the ones that come with the Competition Package on 19's meaty or not? I am not going to put some 20's anyway. Right now my apartment is at 1 mile away from work but it is not furnitured so until I find someone with a truck to carry a bed and maybe something else to my apartment from IKEA because their delivery service says they will get it to my apartment in 1 week, just been there today... I am still paying the hotel... so I am paying both the hotel and my rental... damn it...
