Recommended Microphones please

Im looking for a "shotgun" microphone to mount on my GoPro and Nikon 1 V2, for track clips and posting flyby videos. So far I'm looking at Rode Audio (seems to be the most popular). Any recommendations?

If you do a search there is a thread where one from Amazon is mentioned and seems to get good results.

Shotgun mics are designed to pick up sound at a distance, if you are after sound that comes from the car, that style of mic would not be ideal, look for either omni direction mics or something cardioid, like Audio Technica PRO24-CM stereo mic, or for the ultimate in sounding like your right there check out this binaural mic, http://3diosound.com extremely life like probably the most realistic soundstage recording you can get

Awesome. I don't know a thing about audio. Thanks for the guidance.

I also recommend the Audio Technica Pro-24CM. I use one of these with my Canon 5DII and it works very well, especially for a sub-$75 mic.
