anyone have an IND shift extension installed?

I was wondering if anyone has this installed locally? I'd like to check it out in person, and if possible row the gears a few times to test the feel.
thanks,

Seems crazy high. Would also seem to me that the throw would be lengthened as the knob gets taller.

in fact performance one sits lower and actually feels like the throw is shorter.

does look nice and would like to try it but i don't want to buy without a test drive.

length is customizable, but I want to get an overall feel of a longer shifter before doing the install.

It works well with a short throw linkage kit like Rogue Octane.
No slop at all in the system.

no, I don't, 1moremod is just messing around with my old threads. I went with F30 M Performance knob instead, so I actually went down in length.

I called IND to see if they'll make a custom extension for me to fit my OEM knob (without buying their extension piece as seen here in this thread), but they said it's too difficult to duplicate the OEM snap piece on top of the shaft, so the result would be a loose knob head. Their recommendation for me for a custom extension is to buy a OEM lever and have someone cut the shaft and weld some aluminum in the middle, that way I can retain the BMW OEM knob interface.

So this IND piece is a full lever with a standard threading (they'll customize a length for you). So it'll work with most aftermarket knobs that has thread patterns, but most notably not the OEM knobs.

Was looking at the Jaffster knob too but the styling was too much for me (I realize its function based) so I went with IND. Ordered one with an extension 3/4" shorter than their standard size. My UUC EVO3 SSK is height adjustable so i'll get it right where I want it then post pics and a review. Right now I have the F10 M5 knob, which is shorter that standard, and it doesn't compliment the SSK the way it does the OEM shifter.

How do you like yours?

Love it but like you said its a function thing and perfect for my track car. BW race shifter along with this is one of my favorite parts of the build.

I'm thinking i'll feel the same. The UUC shifter cleaned up so much of the slop the OEM shifter had so if this butters the throws up it will be a perfect marriage. To complete something that is such a big part of the driving experience in the car with looks I prefer over Jaffster I think its worth the price. Glad to hear you really like yours.

you two should just get a room and test out each other's knobs and shifters...this forum is not place for your non-sense.
