F80-M.. What will us E9x owners be able to steal?
Hi all, just started a thread talking about seats.
Is there any other new features such as heads up display or upgraded CIC or the like we will be able to steal?? |

I was wondering about the battery since I've read it's 28lbs lighter. Maybe the steering wheel too if the jog dial works with the older CIC.

what will we able to steal? A heck of a lot of nothing. It's a totally new and completely different platform. It's unlikely anything will readily fit into the E90 platform without a lot of custom work. You might as well be trying to fit parts from a Toyota or a Cadillac instead.

Why not simply buy one if it has what you want?

Certain components you can retrofit, such as the NAV, but not exactly plug and play.

Well I was pretty happy with my E9x gear knob I was able to fit and get lit up in my E46.. so I wouldn't say there will be nothing. |

Seems a few people are excited about the lightness of the F80 battery. That possibility is already available

I don't think it's a good idea to put a smaller battery in considering how demanding the electric systems on this car are. That's even more so for those who drive the car daily in cold winter weather.
