Best Way To Finance An E90 M3...?
I've got an E46 M3 at the moment, and after a couple of test drives, I've decided that an E90 M3 will be my next car.
I realise this maybe isn't something that people normally discuss on forums. I'm just wondering what the best option is to finance something like this? I've specced up my car on the bmw uk configurator, E90 Interlagos Blue saloon (Dct, edc, 19" wheels, bluetooth, logic 7 etc.) by the time I'd finished it came out at £62,500. My E46 is probably worth about £12,500. So that leaves about £50k to finance. In the past I've only ever taken out a straightforward bank loan on my cars. I've liked the fact that I owned the car once I had paid it off. I think I would keep the car for at least 5 years, possibly longer. I noticed that Nationwide personal loans came out top in the comparison tables but the maximum amount available was £25k. Never really got involved with leases, hire purchases, etc. so don't really know anything about them. I'll be doing about 25k miles a year in it anyway. This is not related to business, so I can't put anything through in order to save VAT or anything. I was curious to find out what other people would recommend, and what my options are. I would consider a used one if I could get a year or two old one with most of my options, but even then, it would be at least £35k, so I'm looking at getting finance for between £22,500 and £50,000. What is the best way to go about this? |

£6k of fuel a year! Ouch
335d perhaps a better choice both from a residuals and running cost perspective? Otherwise, seek a second hand car, low miles and save a good £20k of list, you'll just stretch to a personal loan in the process |

Go for the 335D like Rich says or better still the 535D is an awesome machine that will not disappoint in performance, MPG or running costs. But hey, who I am to argue if you want an M3, if you got the dosh and can afford then go for it. |

Call me old fashioned but I say, if you haven't got the cash, then you can't afford it. In these economically uncertain times, if I was in your shoes, I'd take the conservative approach, err on the side of caution and get a 335d or 535d. Or save up the money and then buy, in the interim you might even change your mind

buy a nearly new, it will save you a packet. I would have done this apart from the fact that I couldn't find the spec I wanted.

Im looking to buy a new M3 soon around the same price. Which dealers did you guys go through so I know who to approach. Did you buy the latest model year m3 at the time or was there another model year m3 just about to be released. eg. the 2011 coming out - did you by the 2010? I know dealers will save you money if you by a 2010 instead of 2011? How did you guys get that much off - what did you say Let me know so I can use your tactics Last edited by HDB; 08-15-2010 at 12:45 AM.. |

did i read that right, recommending a 330d on an M3 forum ?
Your a long time dead ! Go for the M3 .... i do 25k miles a year in mine and grin for every one of em - that V8 is an engineering masterpiece ! I got approx 10% off list from Sytners (but was over 12 months ago in the middle of the recession) ... not sure what deals they are doing now, but with cash in hand, i'd expect a good deal. |
