UPS delivered my SWS-8s yesterday.

Got them off ebay of course and got a pretty good deal. $270 shipped for the pair to Hawaii. Subtract the usual shipping cost of about $50 and it comes out to about $110 per sub. I opened up the box to check them out and they are indeed the black coned version. I was surprised at how small they look and feel. I've never actually used an 8" sub before so this will be a first for me. Hopefully they perform as well as everyone as been saying. So now all I need to complete this project is an amp and processor. Hopefully I'll have that sorted out by the end of summer. I'm still having a hard time spending a ton of money on the amp and processor since I'm already compromising on my speaker selection.

If this is some sort of under the seat sub replacement, can someone please post the link to the specific thread for me?

I'm interested in this too. I have a ton of old Fosgate amps and processors that are just laying around.

Thanks!

How much power do these babies need?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

They are rated for 150W RMS/300W max. How much power you choose to give them is up to you. I'd say give it as much power as you can.
