The Focal component set is about $310, coaxial is $300 on Amazon UK, not bad for a full PnP set. The Focal underseat woofer is coming next.

I do not think that the component mid will fit the E92, though. The magnet seems to be too deep.

understand... the specs at the bottom says it fits the E92....

Also they are due in the states in 60 days but no word on pricing.

Anyone ordered from overseas before?

I am trying to get in touch with Focal directly and will post whatever I find out.

Technic,

Will this sound significantly better than the OEM ESP setup?

Thanks

Hi Mike

The EPS system lack of clarity/slight audio disappointment is one of the OEM amp and not of speakers, IMO. Changing the speakers only will not change that. Especially the lack of deep bass and low volume quality.

I've seen a few posts where folks have changed out the amp and added a processor and speakers - that's a bit more of a project than I'm ready to undertake now.

If you were to just replace the amp, what would you recommend?

You just cannot replace the EPS OEM amp. What you are talking about is the HiFi OEM amp.

Please search for details.

Thanks! I looked and am now a bit discouraged.

I'm slightly wishing I hadn't gotten EPS now after seeing some of the other threads. Oh well. I'll tell myself that it sounds great as it is!

I would guess that Amazon UK would be much better then... and they have them now.

specs for the separates.

I know we have tons of threads/data on what does and doesn't fit .... both the coaxial and the components have a mounting depth of 2 13/16" does that sound like a universal fit.

Will dig up our old what does and doesn't fit thread tomorrow if no one answers OR if anyone has a link to it... I rebuilt my comp and forgot to save off all my favorites

What is the current preferred underseat woofer to swap out on an EPS? Still the Jehnerts?

Info from the UK site selling the speakers now:

Hi Bob,

Focal IFBMW-C / S range is for front 2 speakers not the back. For the rear speakers, can you give us the dimension and we will check if we have something suitable?

Many Thanks

I thought the front and back are the same if you have the earlier models with the tweeters?

Would these be suitable for the Hifi amp? Would it make it better or is the amp crap so putting nicer speakers in them wouldn't make much difference?

I wouldn't get the rear speakers. Just the fronts. I listen to musicians whilst facing the stage, not with my back to the stage.

I just wish there was an easy way to change out EPS.
I have an old Helix 5 channel amp just sitting in storage.

Agreed. Stock rears should be fine for a little rear fill.
Is the center a 4" speaker too?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

You shouldn't post the last of your VIN publicly. It's not hard to figure out the rest of it.

Bob,

I spoke with Focal directly. The in-house installer said the door speakers will only fit the e90. They will not fit e92/e93. The door panels are thinner on the e92/93 and will hit the door glass if installed. Focal US is waiting on a set of plug and play 8" subs to check fitment in the e90/92/93.
