But yes, the height is a problem, and I would be interested in possible solutions.

Hell, maybe we could all band together and request that a parts manufacturer made lowering rails for the OEM seats or something....wouldn't that be nice....
If you find that thread by any chance I would be very thankful!

It's a pretty old thread....your best bet is to click on my name and search through all of the posts that I have made.

Have fun with that....

I'm 6 feet tall and find the lowest driving position too high. It really bothers me to be feeling like I'm sitting on a milk crate in a performance car. I love the M3. It is an overall masterpiece of compromise between day to day livability, comfort, and ballsy performance. But the drivers seat needs to sit lower.

Does anyone have a 2011.5 without the power components under the seat? Does it by any chance sit lower?

I have a 2011.5 with manual seats. I don't however have any idea if it is lower than a motorized seat. I do think the seats are too high at the lowest position but this is a sports sedan not a sports car so I can accept this issue along with other compromises. It's not bad enough to be a deal breaker for me.

To me, the high seating position is my only gripe with the M3! Wish it can be lowered without resorting to hacking away at expensive seat brackets.
