Does Karma Apply to Snitches?

This thought came to me during the igor debacle. Curious what most people here think.

I'd say that snitching does not incur karma backlash. As snitching could be considered as karma itself.

Vote and post if you like. Poll is private.

Nah, I'm not personally. I just understand their value in a society. Don't have anything to snitch about though regardless. But I'd hate for someone to know about a wrong doing that had befallen me and not tell the authorities or more importantly me about it.

Just thought that I'd post the poll because of everyone hating on snitches in the other thread.

Not disagreeing with this. I find a lot of the time though, it comes down to perspective. I would anticipate that poeple with nothing to hide would be more indifferent on the subject.

if i saw a bunch of thugs trying to break into my neighbor's car, i'd definitely call the cops right away...

if i saw a kid trying to cheat on his exam by copying from a neighbor, i'd leave it and let the invigilator catch him (that's his job anyway)....

if i saw someone shoplifting from a store, i'd prob let security know....

if i saw someone parking illegally infront of a fire hydrant for a couple of mins while he tries to load/unload items out of his vehicle, i'd prob leave him alone and not go crazy and lecture him like what people do to me when i am moving stuff out of my car...

Is it really snitching if you are getting called out on something as amoral as that? Or, is it the responsibility of honest people to keep decietful people in check by standing up for what is right? So many in our society refuse to stand up for what is right and would rather just look the other way under the guise of "Its none of my business," or calling snitch. I applaud Mr. Hobbs for having the courage to act on what he believes is right. Igor seems to think he will be an influential person in the future, and driven personalities often achieve some level of success. I would rather be called a snitch and deal with the consequences of MY actions than be subject to the consequences of some future powerful person who is utterly devoid of moral fiber. Look at all of the Illinois politicians for examples of what I mean.

I was under the impression that snitches/snitching only applied to those people involved in the commission of some wrong act. Examlple: If two people steal a car together and one turns in the other, that would be snitching. If a third uninvolved person wtinesses the act and tells, they would not be considered a snitch.

That depends:

Is snitching a violation of someone's trust? If so, then I think there may indeed be some backlash...
