it does improve, but even prior to the 1200serv, I was getting 15. You're hitting the E60 M5 mpg range right now.

I agree. Your results seem low. I'm just at 1300 miles and have been getting 14-15 around town and 20.5 on a 100 mile highway trip (ave 80 mph).

This is why I think BMW needs to go turbo on M car as well. The new M5 will have a Twin Turbo V8.

My 335 has around 400hp and I'm getting about 20mpg, mostly city driving and being fairly agressive with it.

Another thing to mention. What power settings are you guys using? I'm typically on Normal. I can see if you have your M settings enabled all the time how MPG could be low.

In California here, and the highest mileage reading I have seen thus far is 16.2. I'm post-1200mi service, and drive in normal (non-M) mode most of the time.

Becareful on the new pumps. They pump extrememly fast with air bubble creators which will read 11.9 gallons but in actually you only pumped 11 gallons. Some pumps have 3 clicks. Go between the first click and off position. Pump very slowly , top it off and then try again the 2nd time to calculate your milege. Fast pumping also cause foam in your tank which leads you to believe your tank is full but its not. I feel many of these factors has scewed your calculation. If you reset your BMW the computer should be very accurate.

I'm at 3600 miles and get 16 around town and 19-22 on highway depending on how I drive, which according to my driving record and the Newport Beach Police, is far from "slow"...

I am getting about 13.1L/100kms (21.55 MPG) in mixed driving. It has picked up quite a bit with higher milege on the car.It started out at 17l/100kms(16.58 MPG) when it was new.My wifes 335 gets about 10L/100km(28.2 mpg) in the same driving. But I expected that so I am not disapointed in the fuel milege at all.

I'm at 600 miles now and I get around 16-18 average mixed city/highway. Pure highway I get about 20.

I'll get on it pretty good in 1, 2 and 3 gear but many times I'll shift straight to 6th at that point unless I'm on an on-ramp. I run the RPMs up when accelerating but when going steady state off highway I'll have the RPMs between 1,000 and 2,000. The engine seems to generate enough torque to maintain a steady speed at those RPMs even in 6th gear unless you are going up a hill, then 5th is OK. If I want to accelerate I downshift and away I go.

In addition, you should be getting even better mileage than most of us because you're in CO and the car leans out the mixture for the higher altitudes.
Parking brake? Didn't know it had one

Seriously though, We get WORSE mpg in Denver because there are fewer oxygen particles to create a combustible mixture.

I have the same issue. Still in the break in period and I have to fill up every160 miles. Car computer notes 11.5 mpg. Plus the car is a convertible and heavier.

Just as a test I did everything I could to get 20 last week. I took highway routes, kept the RPM's in the 2k range, rolled to stoplights in neutral, air conditioner off, etc...Never did better than 13.8

THAT is ridiculous. My friends 997 gets 19 all the time. If I drive like an angel I can get our SUV above 22. Bad engineering on BMW's part.

Your calculation is based on imperial gallon. You are doing about 18mpg on U.S. gallon.

I'm getting about 13.5 around town and 17.5 on the highway. I do think that BMW should have integrated direct injection into this motor, which would have helped fuel economy immensely.
