Back on track @ Texas World Speedway 5/19...E46 content!
Bought an E46 M3 with 100k miles with an astonishing 5 owners! Sure did get passed around. I figured that the rod bearings were on borrowed time. I was right...was kind of hoping I had more time but it is what it is. So VAC bearings, forged rods, and a lightweight flywheel (which is super loud!).
Here's the not so good. Finally got bit. I hesitated on opening the wheel up so the car drifted a little wider than I wanted to. The right rear tire caught a curb and hence...what happened. My pride was damaged driving around the rest of the weekend with mud down the entire right side of the car...

It's not a shame. If you want to be near the limits, you simply have to go a little too far at times.
Looks like you could enter that turn far more on the left side or is it because of grip or anything else that you don't? It's always nice to see and hear an E46 M3 driven like that. |

Thanks for the consolation!

EDIT: Which caused the back end to come around towards the inside and pointed me into the grass. At that point I just packed it in and gave up.

I know what it feels like as is nearly threw my dad's 1M onto the runway at the Nürburgring GP-track because of cold rear tires. I got it back but it's really an intentional reaction. If it fits, ok, if not, it's what you had. But nobody can tell he's really fast when he's never gone off.
Btw, i have to admit, I'm pretty jealous when I see that beautiful E46M. Still looking for an M3 that I can afford while studying and I can take to the Ring. |
