I want a car there, anyone have any hook ups there? Ash from internet sales isn't helping out.

Thanks in advance,
Josh

The most horrible dealer I have ever dealt with. I am located 5 miles from them but have ordered my car from Steve Thomas (excellent response / service / pricing).

I visited Encinitas BMW to discuss ordering a new M3. The sales manager, Rick agreed to my pricing but I said that I needed to think about it and get back to him. I then called and emailed him over the next week no less than 5x's without a response. He answered one call and said he would get back to me in 15 minutes... Never called back. This was coming from the sales manager! I also had a sale guy involved and he ultimately failed to help me. At the same time I left two messages with their service department (of course nobody every answered the phone..) to ask some questions about upcoming maintenance on my '08 M3. Both of those calls were never returned. I would not touch them out of principle. I had this experience when trying to buy something; imagine if you had a problem!

That being said... They have some great looking individual colored M3's on the lot. He was very willing to negotiate a great price on their 2012 Dakar Yellow Coupe. It has yellow stitching and all of the right options. I was tempted but yellow is just too loud for me.

I used to live in SD and they're really bad.
All good sales and service guys in Encinitas moved to BMW Vista when they opened.
Don't buy a car there and don't service your car there.
Run away asap.

BMW Vista has always treated me right from a service stand point, but i haven't inquired about buying a car from them so i cannot comment on that.

Used to walk by this dealership on the way to and from High School and dream about purchasing an M3 there. Glad that part of the dream didn't play out.

Now I'm homesick, Maryland sucks.

+1 - I brought my car to Brian at vista BMW based on isugoo's recommendation. I had a fantastic experience. It was my last service prior to warranty expiration and they made sure everything was updated. Including my front brakes!

Ask for Juan. He is a great guy I just bought my wife's x3 from him for a great price and my m3. Got both car below invoice.

Try to buy it towards end of the month, they will be aggressive on the pricing.

I agree. I had both my X5 and M3 serviced by them before I moved to the East Coast. Fast service and the parts department was awesome. They have a really nice young woman working there daily and she hooked me up several times.

I went to BMW of Encinitas once and had a great experience there too.

So its hit and miss.

I bought my car from there only because they had the only E90 available last October with the specs I wanted. Here are the pros and cons of my experience:

PROS:
had the car I wanted in stock
saved the car for me, if not, someone would have bought it over the weekend before I flew down there. This is a con for the other guy as he came down from LA as another sales person told him it was available, when it was actually sold already (paperwork was done weeks prior).
picked me up at the airport
changed my wheels/tires back to factory and not the powder coated white ones (long story but another member here convinced them to do so since the stock ones were on his car)
free coffee, yeah I know that’s a stretch.

CONS:
Where do I begin…
They jerked me around on the car for a few weeks before they finally decided to give it to me for $800 over invoice.
Tried to sell my car when I had the paperwork done already.
Charged me $200 more for doc fees than the normal $700.
Tried to charge me $1750 for Tire and wheel warranty, had it reduced to $1150 and they made me feel like they were doing me a favor. The same with the excessive wear on the lease return.
Charged me for M3 Floor mats.
I felt they nickel/dimed me for everything. Maybe this is just the standard everywhere but Steve Thomas BMW.

Would I go back or recommend them to anyone, never.

I also used to live down the street from this dealer. I can't say anything about sales, but the service was absolute crap. They curbed the hell out of my rim and denied it. NEVER go to the parts place. I am rather certain they stole my credit card number as I had a ton of fraudulent chargers immediately following a purchase. Shady Bastards.
