ESS VT2 600: 570 RWHP STD with MRF X-PIPE, AKRA, 95 OCT

What's up guys. I've been busy getting the car dialed in for Shift-S3ctor. Went back to EAS yesterday with approx 95 octane to see what it would do.

Also, Malek @ MRF helped me dial in my settings (throttle sensitivity, EDC, etc) to provide maximum grip from a 2nd gear roll-on start. Initially, the car would just spin at WOT...but now I'm getting max grip with relatively no tire spin. This should provide a bit of an initial advantage against higher-powered cars susceptible to some wheel spin.

I have included my dyno runs in both STD, SAE and uncorrected for each stage: RunFile 4) 100% stock on 91 octane; RunFile 7) VT2 600 on 91 octane; RunFile 11) VT2 600 + MRF x-pipe + Akra slip on 91 octane; and Runfile 17) VT2 600 + MRF x-pipe + Akra slip on 95 octane.

Interesting to see that the MRF catlezz x-pipe provides for significant torque increases all throughout the power band. This addition made the car "feel" much faster. The higher octane provides for little advantage until after 6,000 RPM...so it doesn't "feel" that much faster, but the advantage at the top end of the powerband is significant so I'm sure it is faster.

Overall the car feels great and I'm excited to see what it can do two weeks from today against some badddass cars.

Enjoy.

Also included are weather conditions as well as boost and air-fuel ratio. EAS hooked up a mechanical boost gauge and we confirmed 5.0 psi of boost. Seems too low for the power I am making. Weird that another VT2 600 kit intalled 2 days ago at EAS was measuring 7 psi using the same method to measure boost. Weird.

Right on Adam. It's been a pleasure building the car so far.

I am just as excited as you to do the next few things too!

Drew is going to put together some kickass vids. The BMW crowd stepped it up big-time for this event, particularly the n54 guys.

Very strong car, the higher octane fuel was definitely beneficial.

Wish you the best at Shift Sector.

Sweet ride man! Can you elaborate on what you did as in throttle sensitivity to control wheel spin? Are you dialing back power or how does that work?

Hey what's up. Sorry I couldn't make your meet this weekend as I live way down south OC.

As you know the power button makes the throttle extremely sensitive and coupled with the blower and the x-pipe, a quick stab of the throttle would make the wheels break loose in 2nd and 3rd gear. It's terrific when the car is stock, but not with the blower and x-pipe. Malek also changed the EDC setting and it worked like a charm. No wheelspin in 2nd gear now

No worries man. Can't wait to see your car in person one of these days! So essentially you can just plant your foot to the floor and the throttle settings now basically simulate you rolling into it?

Yeah I can put my foot through the floorboard and it will still won't spin! And it doesn't even feel like I'm rolling into it. The throttle response is (almost) instantaneous...that few milisecond delay prevents spin for me.

That's bad ass man. I might have to hit Malek up and get this done. Even having this done is still more aggressive than using MDM mode obviously right?

Thanks. Actually DSC is still on...just now set to MDM. Power button is OFF and EDC is Normal. Using S5 with shift lights ON.

For the upcoming event when we go from a rolling start, at between 40-50 mph in 2nd gear, I have no wheel spin to worry about anymore. The car just takes off.

When I go from a dead stop, I have another setting altogether and yes DSC is off for that.
