Countdown to M3 - Driving event

What ever happened to the event scheduled at the Nurburgring put on by BMW where some lucky chosen folks got to go drive M3s on the ring. Date of the event was September 19-20. It was probably all stodgy old dudes who don't use computers and don't post at m3post.com.

Sure would love to hear a report from someone who attended.

No news, no rumors, no one knows anyone who attended. A it sad. BMW should have defintiely awarded a trip to one of the faithful here. We do so much darn free marketing for them... Weren't the pics of the 30 M3s at the ring to support this event?

isnt there a video posted that states a 100 M3's at the Ring?

Yeah, I saw that, but it was not much of a write up (like the link I posted). I was hoping to hear some recounting like that.

The pictures was from the event the day before the one mentioned on the website. (18th and 19th)
I understood from the BMW people that they had been running this event for quite a while now and that they were going to have the same deal the next day as well - which I guess should have been the one reffered to at bmw.com. Im just guessing.

I don't know whether anyone actually went to the Countdown event, but I am at O'Hare right now waiting to board my flight to MAN and then on to FRA. I'm headed to the M3 Experience at the N-ring. I will try to report on driving impressions in a couple of days if I can get web access at the Dorint.

Wow, and here I was thinking that that event and the one that is the topic of this thread were somehow one and the same.

Have a great time. Make sure you ask them about M-DCT once you've all had a few beers.
