FS: Ground Control E9x Sleeve Kit .::CHEAP::.

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
SOLD SOLD SOLD

I bought these about 2 years ago for $1000 directly from Jay at Ground Control. Used them on my 2011 e92 for 1 year and about 18,000 miles. The kit is 100% complete, but dirty. I replaced them with KW V3.

Since this kit made noises on my car I can only assume it will on your car as well if you do not have it gone through by Ground Control or a competent suspension technician.

I HIGHLY recommend the potential buyer of this kit send it in to Ground Control to be inspected and to have any parts repaired/replaced.

OR

This kit would be a perfect starting point for someone who wants to build a custom suspension set up.

You may be asking why I don't send the kit in to Ground Control myself to have it cleaned up and rebuilt and then sell it for a pretty penny. To be honest, I have wiped my hands clean of this situation and will never do business with Ground Control for any reason again.

This Ground Control Sleeve Coil Over Kit will fit:
ALL E9X model M3 including EDC

I am asking SOLD for the entire set up picked up in Orange, CA
I am willing to ship CONUS, but it will cost $50

If paying through PayPal please add 5%, as cash and a local sale is preferred

What you see in these pictures is what you get

I like them, they were not bad as far as functionality. The noises were irritating and were coming from the sway bar end links. The real problem I had was dealing with the people at Ground Control, that was enough to make me remove the kit.

I have the same kit on my car, and it "clunked" after install. After troublshooting for a few hours I found the sway bar link set up was incorrect on install. After I corrected it myself (clamp position and orientation on the dampers along with ensuring there was no play in the links laterally) all of the noise went away and the kit worked really well. Don't know the condition of this kit, but if it is not worn, and if it is installed correctly it should not make any noisy. There is also a definite improvement in overall handling.

As far as I know it should fit all E9x M3's but I leave it to the potential buyer to confirm that with Ground Control to make sure.

Spring rates are 440 lbs front and 650 lbs rear

Can these springs be used just to lower the car and not use the other rods? How much do they lower the car anyway?

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that with this kit; you need to use all components to lower the car. You can go from stock height to as low as the car can go.

It's tempting I must say... Just like you though, I hate any noise other than exhaust and engine ;-)

All the noise issues in this kit originate from the sway bar end links. Four new heim joints will make this kit nearly perfect.

$10-$25 each depending on where you get them from and quality (I would recommend something made in the USA)

Interesting. If you don't sell it by sometime next week, I'll pm you. Might be worth a gamble.

Thanks.

Bumping this for visibility

Eric Dickerson (username Diecast) bought this kit off of me and has been trying to sell it as a new kit OR has been trying to use this kit and another GC kit to scam people out of money. This kit needs to be sent into Ground Control to be repaired.

Stay away for Eric Dickerson. He is a known SCAMMER.

Here is the thread with details: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=865176
